Chapter 7

~Carter's POV~

We pulled into Taco Bell and parked next to Cam and Nash. I looked at Hayes.

"You ready to go?" I asked

"Carter what are we going to do? I mean we are dating and the guys don't know." he says quietly

"Hayes we can tell them if you really want them to know." I say

"I know but what do you want to do?" He asked

"Well Cam and Nash are probably just going to tell them anyways." I point out

Hayes nodded and we got out of the car and walked inside the building. We were greeted by the guys. Hayes and I quickly went to Cam and Nash.

"You're not going to tell the other guys are you?" I asked

"No why would we do something like that? It's up to you two if you want them to know not us." Nash said as he stepped out of the line waiting for Cam and his food.

I let out a sigh of relief. "Well Hayes what should we do?" I asked

"We should tell them but not just yet." He said as we stepped up to order. Once we ordered and got our food, we were on our way to the tables. There were only two seats left One by Matt and one by Aaron. The seats were all the way across the many tables from each other. I heard Matt call my name to sit by him.Aaron then called Hayes to sit by him. I sighed and gave Hayes his food and went and sat by Matt. Once Hayes sat next to Aaron. I automatically got a little jealous.

"Hey Carter why haven't we been hanging out?" Matt asked

"Matt I'm just a phone call away, you could call and we could hang out anytime."

I looked down the tables to look at Hayes. Aaron then took a drink of Hayes' drink. This lit a fire inside of me.

"Hey Carter can I talk to you outside for a minute?" Nash asked standing up and walking outside.I stood up and followed.

"Nash what's up?" I asked

"I just wanted to say thanks." He said

"Uh why?" I asked confused

"I haven't seen Hayes this happy for a few months. I was walking into his room to talk to him when I actually walked in on him cutting." He said quietly. My eyes went wide "I don't know what was going on that caused him to start, but ever since that day I don't walk into Hayes' room, I actually avoid his room at all costs." He said "and I didn't think I would be having this talk with someone that's dating my younger brother I just assumed I would go through this with Skylynn but she has Hayes and WIll also." he says "If you ever hurt my brother Carter I swear to god I will come find you and beat the ever loving hell out of you. Do I make myself clear?" He asked

"Whoa Nash I would never do such a thing chill out man, I like your brother a lot and I just want the best for him so if he wants to end it at anytime I would be devastated, but I wouldn't question him." I say

"I'm glad you feel that way, but Carter I want to ask you about something..." He says quietly

"Sure, What's up?" I asked

"I was wondering." he said rubbing the back of his neck "Do you think Cam likes me?" He asked

My eyes went wide, my jaw dropped "C-cam?" I asked and Nash nodded "Uh I don't know dude." I say "He might?' I said "I don't know. If you want I could help you find out."

"You would do that to a guy that just said he would kick the shit out of you if you hurt his brother?" He asked

I laughed "Nash of course I would we're friends that's what friends are for." I said he smiled as we walked back inside.

Soon everyone was done eating and we all decided to go to the park. We all cleaned off the table and headed out to our cars. Hayes and I were the first to leave Taco Bell.

"So when do you want to tell the guys?" I asked

"I don't know." He said as wee pulled into the park and started walking around. I took his hand in mine while we found a tree to sit under.

"I don't know about you, but I want to tell them soon." I said quietly. As I leaned my head against the tree trunk

"Why?" Hayes asked

"Because I just want to do this." I said as I pulled his shirt toward me and pressed my lips to his. He put his knees on the ground on opposite sides of my body and sat sown lightly on my stomach. I smiled against his lips. We pulled away when we heard Taylor screaming "We're going to turn up tonight!" Hayes then got into a normal sitting position next to me. I heard Matt screeching when they finally found us we all sat down and talked for awhile. Taylor climbed the tree I was leaning against and the rest sat in circle. Hayes and I laid under the tree and soon enough his head laid on my shoulder. I kissed his head and continued talking when I was interrupted

"Wait whoa what the hell was that?" Taylor asked

"What do you mean?" I asked

"You just kissed Hayes head." Taylor said

"I guess it's about time to tell you guys that Hayes and I are dating." I said

shock went through the faces of all the boys. Matt was the most surprised by far, but his shock quickly turned to jealousy and he got up and stormed off. I looked at Shawn who quickly followed after Matt and tried to comfort him. Shawn soon returned he looked really depressed.

Hayes soon woke up and I all the guys congratulated us. I got up and walked in the direction that Matt did. I found him crying on a bench.

"Matthew." I said quietly sitting next to him. His eyes were puffy

"What could you possibly want?" he asked looking at me with his tear stained face.

"Matt I'm sorry." I say

"You really think that's enough Carter?" He asked "If you think so you've got another thing coming." he said

"Listen Matt I didn't know you had feelings for me." I said

"I know you didn't but I thought maybe you liked me. That's where these feelings started. Now it's a little late to take them back." He said as more tears came to his eyes "Because I don't think they'll ever go away." I hugged him to my chest. He suddenly leaned up and kissed my lips, My eyes went wide and I pulled away. I looked away from him my cheeks were red.

"I felt you kiss back Carter. Don't act like you didn't like it." He said

"Matt I didn't want that." I said I felt his arms around my waist. I cringed to his touch and pulled away "Matt stop it please." I said "I like Hayes, so please just stop it." I said

"Carter..." he said quietly

"I'm not the one that likes you Matt." I say "but I will tell you right now that he is sitting right there in that circle." I said pointing in the direction of the guys 'He's really into you Matt your just blinded." I said walking away to heard him following after me. I smiled and ran back to Hayes. I tackled him and we rolled down the hill laughing. I landed on top when we stopped rolling and I kissed his lips gently. I ran my hand through his hair and rolled over one last time. We pulled away and Hayes laid his head on my chest. I looked up at the other guys and smiled. they were all talking.

I looked at Hayes "We have to help your brother see if Cam is into him." I said

Hayes smiled and laughed "Of course Cam likes Nash." He said in between laughs

'How can you tell?" I asked

"I don't tell I know because Cam told me." he says

I smiled "Oh." I then closed my eyes and sighed happily. We left a few hours later. Hayes went home with Nash. When I got home. I laid in my bed and texted Nash that Cam likes him. I got a reply almost instantly.

'Sweet! Thanks Cartah!' it read. I just smiled and laughed a bit. I locked my phone. I got up and took of my shirt and pants I threw on some basketball shorts and laid back dow. I texted Hayes a goodnight text and fell asleep.
