This one is kinda a filler chapter, sowwy!
Calum's P.O.V:
I walked out of the room, closing the door gently behind me. I swore I heard a voice from her room as soon as the door shut... Nah, it's probably just my imagination.
I walked down the stairs, finding the three other boys in the kitchen eating waffles.
"Hey what's up??" Ashton said, nodding his head at me before going back to eating his food.
"Nothing much. Kat woke up so I let her alone since she was embarrased" I said nonchalantly, sitting down next to Luke. I dug into a plate of waffles that Ash gave me while Michael stayed silent the whole time.
Mental Note: talk to him later and make sure he's okay
I realized that everyone in my small group of friends had very different personalities, making the 3 of them seem like a group of 50.
First off is Ashton. Ash was the person that was most responsible, as the eldest, and cared for everyone alot but could also be really cute and giggly when in certain moods or trying to cheer someone up. He is be one of the most caring people you can meet but also somehow manages to look like a badàss at the same time.
Michael was the one that at first comes off as being really badass and not caring for people, but once you get to know him he's a sweet guy that is self-conscious and that is adorable and loves cuddles. He kind of has the personality of a child in the best way possible.
Luke was silent a lot, but very observant. He kind of went with anything and was a kind dude that doesn't mind being social and helping people out, having a caring heart. But he also struggled alot in the social department since he wasn't classified as a 'cool kid' or 'popular' since he doesn't do sports and doesn't hide who he truly is, a music loving guitarist/singer.
And that brings us to Katrina. Kat is a very interesting character. She is Mute, as you know, but somehow makes it so that people barely even notice that she's silent. She always manages to be parts of the conversation without having to write down what she's thinking. She's also kind and cares for others, and doesn't pretend to be someone she's not. Once you get close enough to her, you figure out that even though she seems like a normal, happy girl that has chosen not to speak in school, you find out that she's broken, and is trying her best to fix herself but is also too stubborn to get help. She's overwhelmed with all of the emotions that have built up inside of her and can't even go to a therapist, why would that help, she can't speak- won't, speak.
All of them have pieces of each other embedded in their personalities and it's easy to see that it will be nearly impossible for their friendship to ever fade away, fully, at least.-
My thoughts were interuppted as Kat herself walked in, still in her sleepwear, looking stressed.
"You okay Kitty?" Michael asked, speaking for the first time since my arrival. She gave a thumbs up and a very fake smile before sitting down across from me, avoiding my eyes. Luke got up and placed a plate with only one waffle on it in front of her. She declined politely, pushing the plate away but he pushed it right back. She looked up at him, glaring. He glared right back.
"It's one waffle. You aren't getting up until you finish it" he said, his voice stern. My eyes widened slightly in surprise. I've never seen Luke with such an intimidating and challenging aura, it was quite weird, but he definitely pulled it off.
Kat, being her stubborn self, gave him a look, seemingly challenging him as she put her hands on the table. She was about to push herself up when a new set of hands pushed her right back down. She looked up and saw Ashton, giving her an innocent smile. Nobody spoke, as Kat tried to find a way to get out of this predicament. When she came up blank, she looked to Michael for help and he looked back at her sheepishly.
"You really need to eat something Kitty. I don't know the exact reason why you're being driven not to, but whatever it is, it's not enough. I, as well as the other boys, are worried for your health and I really hate having to force you to do this but we have no choice" Michael said, his voice quiet but determined as Kat listened intently.
She frowned, not daring to look me in the eye and sighing down at the waffle. She picked it up and took a bite of it, chewing slowly and looking pained.
***********
After she finished the waffle they let her go and she automatically stood up, starting to clean the dishes. The boys walked out of the kitchen but I decided to stay, helping her.
"Need any help?" I asked, leaning against the table. She spun around, narrowing her eyes at me.
'we're not doing this again' she signed, confusing me slightly until I realized what she meant, laughing. I looked up after I settled myself down to see her already staring at me, causing a smirk to appear on my face.
I walked closer to her, her eyes widening as she took a step backwards. I took a step towards her again, making her take another backwards before realizing she was caught up against the counter. She went to move away but I quickly walked up to her, trapping her in between my arms as I leaned down so we were face to face.
"What? This?" I asked, going so close I could feel her breath fan across my lips. Her lips parted slightly and her striking green eyes widened, locked onto mine before they glanced down at my lips. She nodded slightly, a smile coming onto my face.
I pushed off of the counter, walking over to the sink and started washing the dishes she hadn't finished yet. I couldn't see her reaction but smirked as I could imagine the adorable blushed face of her, frozen in place.
************
After we finished the dishes, we all hung out in her living room until dark, when we all went home so our parents didn't worry. Ashton drove me home and the rest of the weekend went by with nothing eventful happening, we hung out at Ashton's house on Sunday and played FIFA, but that's all really.
*********
On Monday I went through the same routine, deciding to wear a dark purple sweatshirt and black skinny jeans. I went and picked up Kat, the car ride being filled with only the sound of my music the whole way to school. We got out and walked up to the doors together, ignoring the stares and murmurs as we were both getting used to it.
I walked her to her locker and we stopped by mine on the way to English. We were in class when I groaned.
"Nothing interesting is happeningggggggggg" I whined, hearing a light giggle escape Kat, making me smile slightly.
Little did we know this was going to be one of the most eventful days in our lives.
