Asteria kicked at the floor, dragging her feet along the stone floor of the corridors. Today she was supposed to be meeting Sirius and heading to Hogsmeade, but instead awoke in the middle of the night to a vicious cold. She'd spent the early hours of the morning coughing and sneezing - causing Parkinson to shout at her in anger.

Asteria's nose was red, her eyes droopy, and her cheeks were impossibly pale. Going to Hogsmeade would not be enjoyable in her state but then again maybe the fresh air would do her some good.

"Ria!"

Asteria turned the corner and instantly collided with a boy, both of them stumbling backwards as her forehead hit his chin.

"Ow!" Asteria complained, rubbing her head.

"You should really watch where you're walking." Sirius chuckled, rubbing his own chin.
"That's why I was looking at the floor." She grumbled, looking up at him.

"Wow... What happened to you?" Sirius widened his eyes as he saw the sniffling Asteria before him. She pulled a tissue from her sleeve and rubbed it over the tip of her nose.
"I'm fine, what happened to you?" She retorted.

"You look half-dead." He stepped away, trying to keep his distance.
"You don't look too hot yourself." Asteria frowned, folding her arms.

"Ria, we're not going to Hogsmeade. You should probably go to the Hospital Wing."

Asteria dug her hands into her pocket and sniffled quietly. If there was one thing she hated, it was admitting she needed help. The only time Asteria had willingly asked for help was seeking Sirius to aid her in revision. For some reason though, she was more than fine with asking for his assistance. Admitting she was weak and needed treatment was something Asteria was not willing to do.
With her hands in her pockets, she pulled at a thread of her trousers, wrapping it tightly around the tip of her finger.

"I'm not going to the Hospital Wing. I'm fine." Asteria walked past him.

Sirius was astounded. He turned to watch her walk past him and stared at her leaving for a minute before deciding to chase after the girl. After all, they had agreed to hang out all day.

"Okay wait!" Sirius jogged to keep up with her. Despite being ill, she moved quickly, "I can at least keep you company and make sure you don't die. We did make plans and I'm not going to let you flake."

Asteria furrowed her eyebrows at him.
Why was he so determined to spend time with her?

"Flake? I'm not flaking. I'm ill!" She exclaimed exasperatedly.
"So you are ill! You're not fine! Ria, you can't lie to me!" Sirius smirked in victory.
