"Hey Autumn! Wanna come hang with us?" The A-List girls asked me. Autumn... Autumn... WAIT *I am Autumn*!!!
I walked over nervously to their lunch table, with my tray in one hand and my Percy Jackson book in the other. After reaching their table, I spoke with a quivering voice, "Hey gguys... hhow is it ggoing..." In my head I was furiously thinking to myself *SHIT AUTUMN! You messed up big time. They finally invited you to their squad and you do this? WALK AWAY WHILE YOU STILL CAN. WALK AWAY WOMAN!!!!*
Then Reese, the so-called leader of the group said in a voice as sweet as honey, "Hello Autumn." I thought to myself, oh boy this is where everything goes wrong. As I was thinking this thought, something cold splashed over me, jolting me out of my dreams. I looked down and realised it was a tray of spaghetti which incidentally was today's lunch menu! Reese started laughing at me.
"Sorry girl, it was an accident...NOT! If you want to join my squad, you gotta do something daring. Oh remember those rumours about Mona Park? Maybe you could go in as part of the initiation ceremony. Then after that, you gotta stay there the entire night! I will be watching you. So will my squad. So don't you dare try to run away or anything." I shuddered as I heard these words. The rumours about Mona Park was that it was haunted. Some people even reported that they saw some "people floating above the ground". Until now, I had shrugged it off, people could be pretty unbelievable. Once somebody had apparently seen a dinosaur walking through town! Like how BELIEVABLE IS THAT? HOW STUPID DO YOU PEOPLE THINK WE ARE??
However, the more cowardly part of me kept warning me to keep away, it's ok to not be part of the squad. Like who cares? But secretly, I did care. To be popular.
Before I could stop myself, I said ok Reese! Now, there was no turning back.
