The Room was dark. And not a sound was to be heard. He came closer. Enough for me to feel his lips hovering over my left ear. He mumbled a word of apology. “I’m sorry.” Followed by an explanation for it. I knew he had finally decided to tell me the truth. He whispered in my ear for 2 minutes. I didn’t hear anything but the last 3 sentences. Each sentence delivering arrows of pain with them.

“I didn’t love you.”

Pain cramping in my stomach.

“I don’t love you.”

As if there was a bullet in my head.

“I don’t think I’ll ever.”

My heart gave away.

I fainted.

 Slowly falling.

A tear in my eye.

I hit my head and saw the tears mix with blood. The last thing I saw was his muscular legs walking towards the door. I felt no anger. No sorrow. I felt pain. Physical and emotional pain. The last thing I said was “Don’t walk away.”
