I stumbled down the deserted halls, heading towards my next class, when I heard a loud whimper. I was already late for class, so I figured I may as well go investigate. I peered around a corner, only to find a girl getting beat up by this group of guys. They were the jocky type, go figure. A black and blue bruise circled her eye, standing out against her pale skin. Her lip was cracked, and a trickle of blood streamed down her chin. "What do you think your doing?" I hissed, stepping closer to them with fury igniting my eyes. I didn't even know this chick, but something about seeing her hurt made me want to stand up for her. "Cmon man, we were just having a little fun-" One of the guys started, but I effectively cut him off by punching him in the jaw. I heard a crack as my fist connected to bone, and he fell then looked at me in surprise, fear written all over his face. He howled in pain, and stumbled down the hallway after his posse, who were already long gone. I turned to the girl, who was backing up against the lockers, obviously scared for her life. My expression softened, and I extended my hand toward the girl. "I'm not gonna hurt you," I cooed, and I saw relief flicker in her eyes. "Thanks for saving me," She mumbled, embracing me in a hug. "Um, you're welcome?" I stuttered. She pulled away and grabbed my hand, heartily pumping it up and down. "I'm Rose!" "I'm Jackson." I replied, shocked by her sudden outgoingness. The bell for lunch rang, and I mentally cursed it. Stupid bell! "Will you sit with me?" She asked shyly, and I did a double take. "What?" I asked dumbfounded. The confusion must have surfaced on my face, because she grinned widely, showing her pearly white teeth. "Cmon," She laughed, dragging me over to an empty table. I got many strange looks from some of my friends, And my girlfriend didn't even look like she cared, she was too busy talking to her cheerleader friends. But I could care less what they thought. I liked Rose, and I was shocked when I learned she had no friends. She really opened up to me about her life, and was a really good listener when it came to mine. "Take this," She shoved a piece of notebook paper at me and skipped away when the bell for class rang. I unfolded the paper, and scribbled in the neatest writing I had even seen were the words: Call Me :) 619-555-6743
