It was hard, not seeing him all the time. His mother and father would have dinner with us almost every day. I have dreams where I cant see anything, but Augustus is there. Every night, it seems that I have this dream. Not only Augustus it there next to me, he is humming. I dont know what song, but it comforts me. When I wake, I know it is only Phillip, The machine I named that keeps me alive. Poor Philip.. I bet he has to work all night thinking, If I stop, Hazel could die. She lives because of me... And keeps working. Phillip is a badass.
That night, I had a different dream. It was of my mother. She was cradeling me, and I felt at home. Safe and sound. Until I woke up. There was a figure standing next to me. I screamed, but it was only my dad. "DAD!" I screamed groggily. He said, "Remember the doctor said you might have a baby?" "Don't tell me that I could have a baby in a few days at.." I look at the clock. "Four in the morning." "IT'S A BOY!!" My father screams as my mother runs in. She says it too. They knew I was having Augustus Waters' baby before I even did.
