I ran my fingers through my hair and looked down at the blank paper.
We needed three new songs in four weeks, and I had nothing. Everything I wrote seemed so wrong, and ended up in a crumpled up ball in the floor.
I sighed as I began to write. 'I still loved you the day that you left me, but I knew it was for the best.' I wrote. I shook my head and tossed my pen. I ripped the paper out of my book, crumpled it up, and tossed it on the floor to join all the others. I glanced up at the clock.
3:00 am.
I rubbed my eyes and pushed myself out of my chair. As much as I knew that I needed to finish a song, I could barely hold my eyes open. I grabbed my wallet and left the studio, heading to the only place that I knew would be open at this hour. The Coffee Shop.
I walked in, and looked around. No one was here, and I let out a sigh of relief. I hesitantly walked up to the counter, looking around for a waitress. Suddenly, a girl popped her head out of the kitchen. "I'll be right with you." her soft voice said.
"No rush." I replied, my voice low and raspy with lack of sleep.
She quickly came out of the kitchen and gave me a weak smile. "What can I get for you?" she asked, straightening out her apron.
"Tea. Whichever kind is easiest for you to make is fine with me." I said quietly.
"Okay." She said, as she walked over to start preparing my tea.
"Not to sound nosy or anything like that, but why are you still here?" I asked her.
She turned around and looked at me, a small smile forming on her face. "It's my family's shop, and no one else wanted to work, so I got stuck doing it." She explained.
I nodded my head slowly.
"It's my turn to ask," She started. "What are you doing out this late?"
I laughed a little. "I was at my studio all night, working on songs." I said, not expecting her to understand what I meant.
"You write songs?" She asked, sounding a bit surprised.
I nodded, trying to decide what to tell her. "I'm in a group, and we have a comeback in four weeks. I need to have three songs done, but I have nothing." I attempted to explain.
Her eyes went wide and she smiled as she handed me my tea, steam still coming from the top of the cup. "What group?" She asked.
"BTS." I said quietly.
She raised her eyebrows and her smile became even wider. "I've never heard of you guys." She said, sarcasm in her voice.
I laughed and decided to play along. "You should listen to our music sometime. I have to say, we're pretty great. We've won several awards." I said, a warm smile forming on my face.
She laughed. "I'll definitely listen to your music sometime." She joked.
I smiled as a small yawn escaped my lips.
She gave me another soft smile. "You should probably get some sleep. After all, you've got all those songs to finish." She suggested.
I nodded my head and started to reach into my pocket to grab my wallet. "How much do I owe you?"
She shook her head. "Don't worry about it."
"No, I need to pay you something."
"Seriously, don't worry about it. I'll take care of it." she insisted.
I sighed and glanced at her name tag pinned to her shirt. "Thank you Y/N."
"Don't mention it Yoongi. Now get some sleep so you can finish those songs. I look forward to hearing them." She said.
I smiled at her and got out of my seat. "I hope I can see you around Y/N. Then you can tell me what you think of our songs." I said with a laugh.
"Maybe you will." She said quietly as she watched me walk out the door.
As soon as I stepped foot outside of the shop, my mind drifted back to her sweet smile. This wasn't like me at all. There was just something about her that I couldn't forget. I tried to get her out of my mind as I walked back to the dorm. Maybe by tomorrow morning, I would forget about her, and I would be able to get those songs done. I finally reached the dorm, and walked inside. To my surprise, Hoseok was sitting in the chair, looking at his phone. "What are you doing up?" I asked as I dropped my keys on the kitchen counter.
"Couldn't sleep." He replied simply, looking up at me. "Any luck on the songs?"
I shook my head. "Not at all. Everything I wrote sounded bad and I have absolutely nothing."
"Ah, Come on Yoongi. Your songs are always great. Anything you write sounds great." Hoseok tried to reassure me.
"I think I have a bit of inspiration now." I said, my mind drifting back to Y/N.
Hoseok smiled and gave me a look. "I can't wait to hear it." He said.
I gave him a small smile. "Thanks Hoseok, I think I'm going to get some sleep though." I said as I headed towards the room. "Oh, and by the way, I'm going to leave a bit early tomorrow before practice. I found this coffee shop, and I'm going to get some before practice." I said, turning around and looking at Hoseok.
He smiled knowingly, almost as if he knew that I wanted to go just to see Y/N. "Alright. I guess I'll see you at practice then." He said, as he watched me make my way into the bedroom.
As soon as I laid down in my bed, all I could think about was Y/N. She made me feel different than anyone ever had before, and I didn't even know her. We had talked for a few minutes and she served me tea, and now I couldn't quit thinking about her. What was wrong with me?
