Once Dalton and I got to the diner and inside in a booth we sat staring at the menus for a couple of minutes and he knew what he was getting. I kept looking it over not knowing what I was gonna get but the minute the waitress came over Dalton ordered everything for us.
"I hate that you never let me order" I look at him handing back the the menu to her and she walks away.
"I just know you'll debate over what sounds good and what you really like because you get it every single time , then stick with the safe choice. If I had let you order for yourself it would've taken you all day." Dalton says laughing while digging out his phone.
"UH!" was all that came out as I played on my phone as well. We sat in silence for a while. Our drinks came and i was just sitting there reading and picking up the drink every now and then, waiting for one of us to come up with something to say. This felt so weird it was like we were on a first date. Dalton and I were never this quite.
"So..... Where did you go to audition for Idol?" I finally asked setting my phone down that way I could pay attention to him.
"I went to Little Rock for the judges audition, it was intense " He replied putting his phone down too. I looked into his eyes and I could tell he was very excited.
"Well what were the judges like?" I asked
"Very nice, It was really amazing being in there." He answered with a smile.
"Well I cant wait to see it"I say as the food is brought out and placed on the table. I thank the waitress and dig in.

Dalton and I pile back into his car and start the journey to School of Rock. I plug my phone back into his aux and hit shuffled.
Gasoline by Fly Away Hero came blasting through his speakers and he starts laughing
"Why do you have this??" He questions as he hears his song keep playing
"What?!!? Am I not allowed to support my best friend?" I respond in shock as he glances at me and laughs .
"I'm just asking because I didn't know you had any of these songs." He laughs again staring out at the road knowing them like the back of his hand.
"Of course I have these songs, I would have the ones from IM5 if you guys had actually put out an album." I laugh back at him knowing it would get him
"Hey no, why you gotta do this to me?" he said turning red
"I really wish i was there for you being in the Cinderella costume in person because I would've had pictures you could never live down" I say laughing so hard I started coughing. We had a stop light so Dalton was glaring at me. I laugh even more because of how red he was.
"You know I'm only teasing you Dalton" I say calming down. The light turned green and we were on our way again.
The song came to an end and another one slowly started up. My favorite one he did with fly away hero. Storm on the Sea I stare out the window as I softly sang along
"I didn't know you liked this song?" Dalton speaks at the next light
I look at him hes got a smile that could light up any ones day. Seeing Dalton smile brought a smile to my face every time. This was my favorite person to be around day or night and I was glad he was in my life
