Chapter 29: Friends with Benefits

ZACH
For the rest of the day, everyone was super bored. Our manager had decided to cancel the shows until the problem was solved so we had nothing to do for another 2 months. Yeah, months. We were leaving tomorrow morning so we had a free day so we decided to go out and eat some food. "Where do you guys want to go?" Dani asked. I shrugged and kept silent as we waited for the Uber. Everyone climbed into their normal spots and I scooted as close as possible to Jack. He wrapped his arms around me as he held one of my hands. I smiled a little and closed my eyes, shooting them open when the car came to a stop. "We decided on Panera while you were being quiet Zach, sorry." He apologizes. "It's ok." I respond. "He speaks!" Corbyn says jokingly, causing everyone to laugh as I just smiled. We walked in and ordered our food and slipped into a booth. They all talked to one another and told jokes, laughing at each one. I sat there quietly on my phone, glancing every so often at Jack. Someone snatches my phone from my hands. I hear a soft chuckle come from Jack as I look up at him, pouting. "Can I have my phone back?" I plead. "No." He chuckles. He puts his hand on my leg making me flinch but slowly relax at his soft touch. "P-Please?" I stutter. He just smirks and shakes his head. "C'mon guys! Let's go get a table real quick so we can order food." Dani shouts. I forgot we were still in the car. He chuckles and gets up, letting me go first. We climb out the car and thank the driver before walking inside. We slide into a booth while Dani and Corbyn go order food. "So, are you guys together?" Jonah asks bluntly. I blush and look down and Jack just laughs. "I don't know what you would call us." He chuckles. I blush a little darker as Jonah laughs. "Alright, then would you guys be friends with benefits?" He smirks. My eyes go wide at the words and blush super red. Jack blushes a little and chuckles. "If that's what you call friends that have kissed once or twice, then sure." He responds. I get up from my spot and rush into the bathroom.

JACK
"I think he got embarrassed." I say looking at him rush to the bathroom. "Well, you kinda did call each other friends with benefits." Jonah laughs. I blush a little while laughing with him. "I'll go get him." I say while getting up. "Have fun!" He smirks. I just shake my head and walk into the bathroom to see Zach standing there pacing. I laugh at his cuteness and grab him by the waist. He jumps a little and widens his eyes as he meets mine. "Y-You s-said th-tha-" I cut him off by pressing my lips against his. He relaxes and moves his lips in sync with mine. I pull away, pulling at his bottom lip. He quivers his lip at the loss of touch and I smile. "Why did y-you c-call is that?" He stutters. "Because in a way it's true." I blush. "But you know what that means right?" He asks. I nod and move my face closer to his so they're only inches apart. His breathe hitched as I let out a breathy laugh. I give him a quick peck and grab his hand, dragging him out of the bathroom. He groans but lets me pull him back to the table. He sits next to me and crosses his arms. I pull him near me and whisper into his ear. "Are you mad because we didn't finish?" He just nods and turns away again. I grab his hand and squeeze it. "We'll finish later." I whisper. He nods and turns back towards Jonah who was just sitting there, raising an eyebrow out of confusion. "Was I not informed about something or?" He asks. Zach just smiles evilly and shakes his head. "Nope." He smirks. I laugh at Jonah's confusion and soon Dani and Corbyn come back. "So the food- did something happen to make Jonah this confused?" He asks. Zach and I just laugh while Jonah just shrugs. Dani sits next to him while Corbyn sits on the other side.  We talk for a while and eventually our food comes and we munch down. We talk and joke but Zach sits there slightly silent but laughing at a few jokes and responding to a couple of our conversations.
