As the people were saying "Oh my gosh! I missed you all summer." and "Oh hey! You look so good!" I had nobody to talk to.
I'm Alissa, Alissa Cardenshaw. A Junior here at Rassling High, but I'm also the least popular student in school, I'm an artist and I only have about 2 friends.. who are sick.. on the first day of school. But there is this guy I like, Jake. One of the best players on our school basketball team. He's kind, popular and single. I've really tried to get his attention but it doesn't work, but hey, not all of us can get someone like him so I won't complain.

Alissa's POV
As I was thinking to myself, someone bumped into me. I gasped when I saw Jake. "I'm so sorry!" Jake said to me, freaking out. I blushed and picked up my sketchbook while saying back to him "No, it's my fault. I'm sorry." I could see him looking down at my sketchbook and he looked back at me, "Hey, uh, what's your name?" He asked me. "My name's Alissa." I replied. "What's your name?" I said to him, trying not to act like a random kid that just thinks about him. He looked at me, confused since he knows he's popular, but just replied to me with "Jake. Anyways, Alissa, can I look in that book of yours? It looks cool!" I ofcourse said "Sure." and handed him my sketchbook, inside were a bunch of portraits and drawings of my OC's. As he was looking through my book he stopped at one drawing, looked at me and said "This is beautiful Alissa! How long did it take to draw this?" I looked up at him as he smiled. "It took about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I did it a couple days ago." I said back to him. "Well I love it!" Jake smiled while saying to me. "Oh shoot, I have to get going though. Wanna have lunch with me later Alissa?" He said to me in a rush. "Oh yeah! That would be awesome Jake." I replied back to him.
"Okay, I'll see you at lunch!" He said to me while walking off and waving. I waved back and turned around and walked to the front doors of the school and waited for the bell to ring.
TIME SKIP - PERIOD 1 - 8:30 AM
As I'm at my locker before class, I go through my schedule.
It reads everyday, 1st period is Literature, 2nd period is Biology then we have a lunch break. Afterwards 3rd period is Art, 4th period is Mathematics and another lunch break. 5th period is History and 6th period is Tech. So, I should be off to Literature.
As I'm walking to Literature, I notice Jake is walking there too. Do I have the same class as him? Just before he walks into Literature he goes to the next room over and into Mathematics. Dang it! I hope I have at least one class with him. I walk into Literature and sit down, I'm so glad I'm not late. The teacher hands out some lined paper and walks up to the chalkboard, writing on it about ideas for what to write about. "Today, to get started you'll be writing out a paragraph about yourselves and 1 other person of your choosing." For my 1 other person, I chose one of my 2 only friends, Carly. I started working on a paragraph about me and then my paragraph on Carly.
After Literature class ends, I head on over to Biology, just a normal class, introducing ourselves and talking about the semester.
TIME SKIP - LUNCH BREAK - 10:50 AM
I walk out of Biology, and head to my locker. Jake is just down a couple lockers from me, I guess Juniors have lockers on the same floor. I open my locker and put my binders and papers in my locker neatly. As I'm closing and locking my locker, Jake comes up to me. "Hey Alissa! Wanna have lunch outside with me?" He says, while brushing away his friends. "Oh yeah sure thing, should we head to the cafeteria to get som--" As I was responding, he cut me off with "Don't worry, I've got it covered." and he smiled while taking me hand and leading me to the bleachers.
As we sat down, he opened up a box with some food in it. More specifically it had a sandwich that was cut in 2 halfs, a couple of treats, sushi and salad.
"Here, you can have some of my food, I know the cafeteria food can taste horrible!" Jake said to me, laughing at his cafeteria joke. I laughed too, I mean, it is funny! I replied back to him with "Yeah, you're so right about that cafeteria joke." I said in the middle of a giggle, I continued "Jokes aside, thanks for the food. It means a lot." Afterwards we continued talking and eating, it felt great. But of course, the first lunch break came to an end and we went inside.
TIME SKIP - END OF THE DAY - 3:30
Throughout the day, me and Jake talked a whole bunch. In fact, we spent our second lunch break together just eating and talking like the first one. I could tell he enjoyed it as much as I did. Maybe he likes me-- no, no way he'd like me! He probably likes one of the sporty girls like Jenny or Becky. He wouldn't like an artist, he probably just wants to be friends.
Besides, I just want Jake to be happy with someone he has something in common with. As if Jake has anything in common with an artist! I giggle to myself. Suddenly I feel a hand on my back and I turn around to see Jake.
"Hey, can you put your number in my phone? I can add you to my contacts. " Jake says to me, I of course said "Sure thing, here." I put down my phone number and got him to send a message to my phone number. "Well, I'll text you later Alissa. Bye!" He told me while waving and walking off. I got all my stuff and left school, then walked straight home with a big smile on my face.
