Skylar's POV

As soon as I sat down Mrs. Mendes asked, " So Skylar how are you liking Toronto and School?"

I took a sip of water, " Toronto is beautiful and My mother was right Canadians are really nice, and School is really fun and different than I thought."

She smiled, " that's great to hear."

Mr. Mendes asked joklying, " So I know Aaliyah is not a huge fan of Shawn's music, but are you one?"

I laughed, " yeah. You can say that, and nice job Shawn"

He turned to me, "thanks, but what does " you can say that mean?"

Aaliyah butted in, " She has both of your albums Shawn."

He laughed, " really? If you do what are they called?"

I smiled, " Handwritten and Illuminate."

He laughed, " man girl you know your albums. What are your favorite songs from Illuminate if you don't mind me asking?"

I turned to him, " either Bad reputation or There Nothing Holding Me back?"

While he was eating his salad, " why those songs?"

I smiled, " they describe you." He smiled. For the rest of the dinner everyone else talked. After dinner everyone went into the family room. Their parents were watching the news and Shawn, Aaliyah and I went on our phones.

After a while The parents asked me a couple of more questions, " So, do you play any sports?"

" yes I used to do dance, play volleyball and play hockey. And My mother and I are trying to find a good hockey team here.

Mrs. Mendes jumped out of here sit, " you know what! Aaliyah plays on a team, they are called The Lightnings and I can send your mother the info if you want to try out."

" yes of course! That sounds amazing."

Shawn yelled, " you guys wanna play hockey outside?"

Aaliyah and I looked at each other and nodded. We got on our winter gear and ran outside. They set up their goal and it was Aaliyah and I V.S. Shawn.
Aaliyah and I would last to each other on their drive way and on the street just to mess Shawn up. One time Aaliyah hit the puck to hard and it got lost in all the snow, so she ran inside to get another one.
While Aaliyah was inside Shawn walked over to me, " so why are you friends with Aaliyah? Is it just because of me?" I set my stick down, " I know that your a huge pop star and everything, but trust me not everything is about you. Aaliyah can have friends and it does not have anything to do with you!"
He smiled, " Sky your going to be a great friend!"
Shawn and I were just looking at each other until Aaliyah  caught my attention from yelling, " mom and dad wants us to come in now."
Shawn was smiling at me as we were walking inside. We took of our coats and shoes, and on the table there was 3 medium size pink and blue coffee cups filled with hot cocoa.
Everyone grabbed a cup and we walking into their family room, and watched a movie.
The movie ended around 11:30 pm and we decided it was too late for me to go home, so their parents said I could sleep over in Aaliyah's room. Right away we went to bed.
