great. another day of school, which means just more bullying. "sonny, time to wake up." my mom said in her cheerful voice. " I don't wanna." I said pulling the covers over my head. "well then ill do...this!" she came over and hoisted me out of bed laughing. I couldn't help but laugh. I and my mom were very close and I tell her everything. even that I'm gay. but she's very supportive of it so I feel comfortable around her. "come on you have to get ready for school. your 16 I shouldn't have to wake you up anymore." she said setting me down. " I have some food waiting for you downstairs now get ready before it gets cold." she then walked out my room, shutting the door.

I let out a tired sigh. I was up all night and only got a few hours of sleep. in the mirror, I stripped down to my boxers and saw all the bruises on my body from the continuous beatings. that was one thing I couldn't tell my mom; I couldn't even bear the fact of her having to suffer from school changing or multiple meets with the principal. besides, I did have a few friends. I slipped on some jeans and black shirt, following my camo hoodie. running downstairs, I was greeted by some pancakes in the dining room. "thanks, mom." I said with a smile. "your welcome sonny." before I ate the pancakes I let out a yawn and stretched myself and groaned in exhaustion. "were you up all night with your music again?" she said.

"yeah. I was, but I finished up what I was working on ill get some sleep tonight." I explained. "good. maybe you can show me what you finished when you get home?" I gave her a nod and scarfed down the pancakes. "my god you're hungry." she laughed. "you better get going sonny, I don't want you to be late again." she said, and I gathered my things, gave her a kiss and was on my way. I met up with my friend Sirah at our usual spot. "hey sonny. hows your morning been so far?" she said giving me a hug and we were walking to school. " it been great. I got to eat some pancakes which were nice. how about your morning?" she let out a sigh. "not very great. my mom took my laptop since i was up mixing all night." i gave her a pat on her back. "my mom doesn't care, she just wishes i would get more sleep." we walked in silence for awhile, then she tapped me with something.

i looked down checking what it was and it was a can of red bull. "hey, thanks." i said cracking it open drinking the sweet caffeine. "it gives you wings." she laughed. i gave her a chuckle, drinking some more. "your pretty addicted aren't you." she said. "yeah i cant help it. i just need this energy." i said with a fake smile. we walked the rest of the way in silence, and since we had no classes with each other, i felt scared. i didn't want derrel and his friends to hurt me again. i walked up to my locker with my things and there was derrel. "whats up, faggot." he sneered shoving me into my locker. "look at these pretty little locks of hair." he said grabbing a fistful of my hair. i was shaking and whimpering in fear. "aww look whos soo scared." he yanked my hair fiercely and i yelped in pain. sirah had walked off and didnt even notice what was going on.

people were starting to gather. "HEY!" said a voice in the crowd. it sounded really stern, and thought it was just a teacher. derrel dropped me and i hit the floor groaning in pain, shaking in fear. i looked up and a guy with blonde hair came up and grabbed derrel shoving him up against the lockers. "you fucking mess with him again and your roadkill. fucking get out of here." he said shoving him on the floor. i stared in astonishment, at the blonde kid. "everyone go! nothing to be seen here." he said yelling at the crowd of students holding up their phones. they all left, and i was left alone with him. he crouched down to my level, "are you ok?" he said with a kind tone, his blue-gray eyes staring into mine with worry. "y-yeah I'm ok." I stuttered out, taken back by his actions and his astonishing appearance. he outstretched his hand to help me up. "are you sure?" he asked as I grabbed his hand.

i gave him a small nod, trying to avoid his beautiful eyes. "aw are you shy?" he said as he noticed i was trying to avoid looking at him. i shook my head. "well there is nothing to worry about. my names Thomas, but you can call me wes or Wesley. whats your name?" he asked with that sweet voice again, and I couldn't help but blush. "my names sonny." I said really quite. "you are shy arent you, sonny." he said tickling me lightly. i giggled and blushed and smiled staring into his eyes again. "see. you feel better?" he said. I gave a nod and a smile. "now let's go take you to the principal's office, about derrel." he soothed taking his hand in mine. " I don't want my mom to find out..." I whined.

"she doesn't know about this. or that any of this happens." Wesley let out a sigh. "sonny there is nothing to worry about. mr.goldman won't call her if you don't want him to." Wesley and his voice were so reassuring I gave a smirk and a nod as I felt myself relax. we walked into me.goldmans office and he looked up with a confused look on his face. "mr.pentz? did you get in trouble on your first day?" before Wesley could respond I stopped him. "n-no...derrel again. wesley stopped him from going any farther." "any farther?" Wesley scoffed under his breath. "both of you sit and explain to me what happened." after we explained our story, he sent wes out the room for a moment. "Sonny...these attacks keep happening...is there a reason he and his friends attack you?" I shifted in my seat and swallowed hard.

"well umm... I'm not comfortable with telling you that...."I then wished Wesley was back in the room. I just got so awkward after he left. "I think you should go home after an incident like this, sonny. I know you really don't want your mom to know so we can just say people were messing with you too much?" I gave a nod. " it's a good enough cover story." after I called my mom and told her the cover story she believed it and no questions asked she said she was going to pick me up.

"can you have Wesley come back in please?" mr.goldman asked. I went out and got Wesley who was waiting by the door. "he wants you." it didn't take very long, but he came back out about five minutes later. " I got suspended. no big deal." I let out a sigh. "well I guess I'll see you in three days then?" he gave a nod. "alright then. it was nice meeting you. except for the circumstances it was under." I said, getting a glimpse of his beautiful eyes just for a moment longer. I felt kinda sad that I wasn't going to be around him for the next few days. "hey lighten up, sonny." he smiled, and tickled me again. I couldn't help but burst out in laughter. "hey now I know your tickle spots. now cmon let's go get our stuff since all three of us will be going home." Wesley said with a smile. I and Wesley gathered our things from our lockers and waited outside for our parents to show up. then I saw derrel come outside, and was overcome with fear. I let out a whimper and Wesley gave me a look

I pointed at derrel and wes put his hand on my shoulder reassuring me. "don't worry he won't hurt you as long as I'm here. ill protect you, sonny." I smiled and looked up, and our eyes instantly locked. I looked away with a blush and a chuckle and saw my mom pull up. "well I guess I'll see you Friday." wes gave a nod. "yeah. friends?" he said, hope flickered in his face. "friends. friends forever." I said happily to have someone who cared so much about my well-being and safety. he let out a giggle, and it was the cutest thing I had ever seen. deeply blushing me and wes said our goodbyes and I got in the car. "who was that?" my mom asked. "my new friend. wesley."
