(A.N.)
I updated early! YAY! :D
I just want to thank everyone who had been very supportive of this story. It may not have a gazillion of reads and votes but all that I have received is more than enough. I didn't expect to get as much as this so THANK YOU. And giving me more than 1.5K was absolutely amazing.
And as a treat, I present you with this chapter that is also one of my preplanned chapters and probably one of my favorites as well. <3
P.S. To last week's readers', I changed this week to next week for the chidren's party. :)
Dedicated to @persipepsi007 for being so supportive that she even writes on my wall. :D
(Unedited because I am again sleep typing. LOL.)

Survival Skill 28: Thou must be prepared for kiddie parties
“Tell him.”
I rolled my eyes at Joey who had been busy filling her plate with the carrot sticks that were supposed to be for the twins' guests. She had been like this for the past week and it was driving me crazy.
“Yeah, I think you should tell him, G,” Violet said before popping another marshmallow in her mouth. I lost count of how many she ate already but considering that she was still a bit under the weather because Stan had left, I let it slide. She wasn't suppose to come but Amy insisted that Violet should hang out with us and stop moping with a tub of frozen yogurt on her lap. Begrudgingly, she gave in and decided to secretly mope by stuffing her cheeks with marshmallows.
“I second the motion,” Amy agreed, holding a plate full of spaghetti.
I let out a strained groan. Maybe I shouldn't have told them in the first place. They weren't surprised with the whole thing and it annoyed me because it seemed like they expected it. I poked my plastic fork on a hotdog and stuffed the hotdog in my mouth to try to avoid further questions.
Of course, it didn't work.
“So what if he's a few miles away?” Joey questioned, crunch sounds evaporating from her mouth as she chewed on carrot sticks.
“Pfft,” I scoffed with my mouth full, causing a few drops of spit to spray out from my mouth. My friends ignored the cave man move I just made but it disgusted me for acting like that so I swallowed the food in my mouth, grabbed a tissue and wiped my mouth clean. When I was done, I turned back to my friends who seemed to be impatient, and said, “Fourteen hours is not a few miles, Joey.”
Violet stepped in. “Well, if Stan and I can – “
“Violet, that's you guys,” I reasoned, “Me and Rex aren't like that. We can barely handle a relationship where we're a block away from each other and you think we can handle long distance,”
Amy sighed and rubbed my shoulder. “You never know unless you tried, George,”
I shook my head, feeling Amy's hand slide off my arm and smacked my lips before diving into the hotdog platter again. Feeling the stares my friends were giving me, I tried my best to keep my eyes trained on the meaty delicacies. Suddenly, I felt a hand make contact with my skin again and was surprised to see that it was Amy again.
“Why are you so afraid George?” she asked, her voice low and comforting, “Are you afraid of getting hurt?”
“No,” I whispered slowly, “It's just, Rex Parker was never part of my plans.”
