isabel's POV

The rest of the day passed in a blur. I got paired with shay so I had to show him round and take him to his lessons. that was cool, because the lessons we didn't have together I got to go five minutes early and normally miss the teacher setting the homework. the rest of the day after art was followed up by geography, english , science and RE. being let out five minute early, I got away with not doing my English homework. I would do it later, it was a write up of Romeo and Juliet .

'are you okay?' shay asked me, snapping me out of the oversight of today's events. we had found out we lived a few streets away so we were sitting on the swings of a nearby park and finding out about each other.

'yeah I'm good. ummm.... favourite animal?'

'ohhhh Koala! they are just so cute with the ears and awwww. yours?'

'Panda. I think its the permanent black eye kind of like Ashley's old warpaint actually... but in a cute way!'

'Ashley... could that be Ashley purdy of black veil brides?' Shay asked.

'yes it could! you know them by name too? you are a true friend already!

well yeah, I went through a phase where I was obsessed by them but I kinda snapped out of it. I've still got way more merch than I need. actually I've been thinking about selling it recently.'

'NO!!! I mean uh, surely it can go to better use? somewhere you know it will be loved?'

'oh you want it? okay yeah time that's cool.'

'so how much we talking 50? 60?' I asked pulling my denim purse out my pocket.

'it's fine, you don't need to pay for it, it will be a relief to free up some wardrobe space. besides, we are friends right?'

friends? was I going crazy? my last friend back stabbed me and now I think its easier to operate alone. 'yeah, I suppose we are.' a smile forming on my lips.

the smile I got in answer to my remark lit up his whole face. maybe he'd been waiting for a friend too. 'so, you say you snapped out of it?'

'well yeah, I mean I still love them of course, but they aren't the only thing I listen to anymore. so I don't want all the merch I have sitting in my wardrobe. I might keep a couple if shits and bracelets but that's about it.'

'oh okay cool then! more merch for me!' I laughed. today really had been the best day ever. hang on, what was the time? oh god!

pulling out my phone i saw that it read 19:06. shit. I was 6 minutes late. hopefully dad was still at work.

'I'm sorry Shay but I gotta fly!' I announced, grabbing my bag. I'll see you tomorrow! text me!'

my bag was flying behind me as I rounded the corner and I kind of felt guilty for leaving so promptly, but if he knew what I might be faced with he would probably understand.

arriving on my street I slowed to a walk and unlocked the door with my key. I didn't bother trying to find out if anyone was home, I just slammed the front door and  ran upstairs. as soon as I got into my room and the door was shut I sighed in relief. I had managed to avoid him  for another day. mum worked late nights/early mornings mopping floors in a hospital so she was either at work or in bed, and dad worked in a petrol station 1-7 most days.

I turned on my stereo, and blasted out new religion nice and loud for all the neighbours to hear.

sorry for the slow update and this is kind of a filler but the next chappie will be long and awesome!
