Ch.19 Get a Job!

"We all know that our objective here is to retrieve the Panda King's daughter, Jing King. She's being held captive against her will by this man, Genral Tsao, a real peach, this guy is... During survalence, I actually witnessed him kick a puppy, twice!" Bentley exasperated.

"Tch... Heartless, much?" Rae scowled.

"Anyhow, he plans on forcing Jing King to marry him next Saturday, so clearly, time is of the essence. Here's the plan: First, I'll approach Tsao, in disguise, in an attempt to get hired as his wedding planner. Hopefully with someone on the inside, we'll get some news on Jing King. Still, we need more information. Two of us will need to work together to steal a pair of twin keys and break into Tsao's house of business. Once inside, I'll need to utilize some new technology to bypass the security. And finally, thanks to Penelope's air sweeps, we've picked up an unusual radio signal. One of us should go inspect the anomaly and figure out what it is. We can't leave anything up to chance here, or Jing King lives unhappily ever after." Bentley explained. "Now let's get to work everyone."

The next day, everyone was ready to get their jobs done to begin the heist. Bentley was the first to go, heading to go make an appearance before General Tsao himself, already dressed in his disguise. "Alright everyone, I'm heading out."

"Don't get caught." Sly joked, the gang, aside from Bentley, all chuckling a bit.

"Ha ha..." Bentley replied sarcastically. "You're not funny, Sly."

"Really? I think I'm rather hilarious myself, if you ask me."

"I thought it was amusing, Sly." Penelope grinned, giving the raccoon a smirk, which Rae noticed, and it made her frown.

"Yes, he is quite the jokester." Rae cut in, jealously evident in her voice. "But you should get going, Bentley, because it's as you said, time is of the essence."

"O...kay?" Bentley then wheeled himself out.

Sly then turned to Rae, an eyebrow raised. "You okay, Rae? You seem...bothered."

"I'm fine." She said, almost immediately. "I'm gonna go out for a bit." Rae then got up and exited the Safe House, dashing through China as a snow began to lightly fall from above.

Why do I get so offended whenever Penelope gives Sly that dreamy-eyed look? He won't betray me, I know that, but even so... Something about her just...makes me angry and I don't know why. He won't do anything to hurt me, so then why do I get so pissed off whenever she compliments him or has that look in her eyes? Rae just clenched her cane with an almost bruising force. She just makes anxious. I'll have to keep an eye on her.

-Meanwhile-

Bentley approached General Tsao's palace, taking a deep breath, until his binocucom went off. He reached over and held it up to his face only to see Sly trying to contact him. "Alright, I'm ready with my costume. With some luck, he'll hire me on as his wedding coordinator."

"Great, and if you get the chance, try to score the rest of us some jobs as well." Sly said. "You can never have too many operatives on the inside."

"I'll keep that in mind."

"Oh, umm, hey... Have you...seen Rae, by any chance?" He raccoon then asked.

"No...why?"

"She kinda just left the Safe House shortly after you did; she seemed bothered by something."
