Will he stop crying already! It was just an accident.

I glance at the nine-year old boy, standing right beside me with long crocodile tears in his face. He's crying like a new born baby, I really can't stand it...at the same time, I feel really bad for what I just accidentally did.

"Okay, okay...how about you tell me where you got this from and I'll get double of this for you."

Immediately after I say that, the boy's face lits up and he points to an Ice-Cream truck right behind me."C'mon let's go to that Ice-Cream truck, Sir!", the boy says enthusiastically. The idea of getting him another cone of ice cream, right after I bumped into him on accident, has got him eager for it.

"Okay wait, I don't even know your name!", I say.

"It's Sven, Sven Junior. Yours?"

"Michael."

Sven smiles at me and starts dragging me to the moving ice cream paradise. As soon as we reach the truck at the other end of the park, I greet the young guy and tell Sven to order his ice cream. After paying, Sven thanks me and starts running off back to the swings, but halts abruptly and turns back to face me.

"Hey Michael,...why are you wearing all black?",he asks

Oh Snap!

Because it's one of the only colors I see, is what I could've told him, but I don't want to suffer rejection ever again in my whole lifetime. I want him to easily accept me and treat me like any other person in this world.

"Because I like it.",I reply with a smile intact.

He smiles back at me and returns back to the park. I walk back to my car, a Lamborghini and climb into it. I start driving back to my apartment, seeing all the beautiful dull buildings and trees. While driving my mind reels back to what Sven asked me...

"Hey Michael,...why are you wearing all black?"

I grip the steering wheel harder, thinking about my hereditary condition. Pain starts making its way to my heart, but I make sure not to cry.

I'm grown up for that!

Questions about my color blindness have never been asked about in a very long time. And I was thankful for that, I've suffered enough in my life.

"He's an alien!", one of my classmates whispered to another.

"He can't see this color "

"He doesn't have art for a subject!"

"He only wears black, white and grey"

"He hasn't fully developed yet, his eyes forgot to see color."

"Hey Michael, what color crayon am I holding?"

"Get away from me, you colorless creature!"

The insults and rejection increased everyday. Going to school was like going to hell everyday, but my parents encouraged me to go there and shine. I was a bright child, got excellent grades and loved by teachers, but kids at school hated me, called me names and didn't want to befriend me.

High school was worse and each day I was breaking inside, each day I would contemplate whether to commit suicide or not. The burden of carrying my great grandfather's mistake was enough for a reason to end my miserable life.

In my Senior year, I finally made a good friend who liked me despite my difference. Chaz Woods, was one of my many saving graces and I'm thankful to God for sending him in my life and the few people who helped me accept myself.

After I graduated in University, I left my hometown and kept my color blindness a secret, I was actually running away from the people who knew about it and was trying to write a new story about my life. Luckily Chaz also works in this city as a pilot, so we kept in touch quite often.

**Present**

Monochromacy a.k.a 'total color blindness ' was what I was suffering from. My great grandfather worked in a laboratory, on one specific day he was working with dangerous chemicals. He took off his goggles and put them aside, thinking he was going to take a break, but he forgot to put back some of the chemicals back to their cabinets. And stupidly he didn't wear his goggles back on, but instead he picked up the chemicals and climbed the ladder to put back the stuff. Which he managed to do successfully...

But!

He descended the ladder and lost footing, he fell on the ground, bumping the cabinets which held millions of dangerous chemicals.

And Yes! You've guessed right.

The chemicals all came down smashing on the ground, but one specific dangerous chemical came in contact with my great grandfather's eyes. Since then he was declared totally color blind and it became a hereditary condition, passing on from him to my grandfather, to my father and to me.

I've been told this story a million times and it's expected of me to tell my offspring, so that they can understand. Although I've never met my great grandpa, I can't help but think of how stupid he was for not taking any safety measures.

My thoughts get interrupted when my phone starts ringing 'Wild Thoughts ' by DJ Khaled ft. Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. I check the caller ID and see Chaz's name on it.

"What's up man?", I greet him with a calm tone.

"Yo man,where are you?"

"Driving through the CBD, I got nothing fun to do this weekend man"

"Well than, I can get you occupied, come drop at the mall man. I got a surprise for you!", Chaz says ecstatically through the line.Uh-oh!

I don't trust his surprise, but I guess I'll come.

"Sure, I'm on my way.", after that I hang up and step hard on the accelerator to get to the mall quickly, but am stop the female GPS voice that tells me to stop because the traffic light is red. I know many color blind people cannot drive, but thanks to my profession as software engineer, I designed my own app that senses any nearby traffic light and it reads the color flashing which then converts into a female voice to tell me to stop, be careful or go. It also does other things, etc.

Thank you Technology!

I arrive at the mall and head for a small restaurant. I enter it and start scanning for a familiar ,tall Chaz. A hand waves at me and I see Chaz seated in a secluded area with...

With a woman, I look back at Chaz and he just winks at me.

Oh no, not this again!
