Chapter 1
I look up. He's hovering over my body. I'm vulnerable. I sit in the corner of an empty room. We are the only ones here. Something is different this time. He isn't pointing a gun at my head, but in place of it is a baseball bat. A cold, hard, metal baseball bat which He holds over my head. He starts to swing the bat toward my head, then it goes dark. I sit up, palms sweating, heart racing to realize it was just another bad dream. It takes me a few seconds to comprehend what just happend then I exhale heavily. I glace at the clock, and its 7:45. "Shit! I overslept!" I sprint up to get ready. I run to the bathroom, splash some water on my face, and hustle back to my room. I threw on a pair of leggings and a baggy t-shirt, which used to belong to my dad, and threw on my converse. I locked the door behind me, and started walking to school. I could hear the bell ring in the distance, and I started to walk faster, which quickly became into a jog.
I arrived to school 5 minutes late, without being noticed. I sat down in my seat of Mrs.Keizerman's English class. 3rd aisle, 6 seats back. Mrs.Keizerman had just finished up her lecture on Romeo and Juliet, when she announced a new writing assignment. As everyone moaned about how writing is stupid, and won't help us in life, I started to grin. English was never my favorite subject in school, but Mrs. Keizerman made me like it and writing was beginning to be my passion. "So class this assignment is all about you. For this assignment you will all write a personal narrative about yourself." I sat up, suddenly very interested. Apparently it caught my best friend, Jason's attention because he looked in my direction, and he automatically knew what I was thinking. "Now all of you must write one no matter what it says it stays in between us, unless I believe you are a danger to yourself or others."Thoughts started going through my head and I sighed, I knew this could be my escape. Now all I had to do was write the paper.
