Song of the Chapter: Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time, Panic! at the Disco

"Eva, wake up. We're here." Brendon said softly while nudging his sleeping daughter next to him. She stirred and looked out the window before looking up to her Dad. "I've never been out of California," Eva almost whispered, smiling. This sent a smile to Brendon's lips as well. He felt like he was giving her the life and experiences she deserved.

After grabbing their bags, cases, and carry-on, the tired musicians strolled from the airport. Surprisingly, not many people were there to take pictures or see any of them after getting off the plane, making the trip out a breeze. They all got in separate cars and drove off towards the venue. Eva sat between Dallon and Brendon and became engrossed in her phone. "How many texts did you miss from your boyfriend?" Dallon joked, swiping the phone from her hands and holding it away. Eva tried to feign anger, but giggled while pulling on Dallon's arms and trying to take her phone back. "Dall, I have to reply! Stop!" she laughed out when he finally gave in. "It's pretty cute, E." Eva rolled her eyes and elbowed Dallon hard before shaking her head and returning to her phone.

"Okay, so on Miss. Jackson you'll come out before the lights come on. Then you can play for a while with Dall and cut out at the covers. You're free to stay on stage and sing with me after." Brendon ran through. Eva nodded and felt nerves build up, but tried to ignore them. After the adoption announcement, Eva avoided looking through comments and fan pages and anything that could say something about her. It would destroy Eva to possibly read how much they all hated her, so she just avoided everything. Honestly, Eva had no clue what the fans thought of her. Brendon looked down at the quiet girl next to him and saw her gears spinning.

"Whatcha thinking about?" he whispered to her, snapping her from the spiral. Eva smiled a bit from embarrassment before looking up at him. "Just nervous. They might not like my music, Dad." Brendon's face fell a bit before he took his daughter's hand in his and squeezed it. "I promise you, they will love every bit of it. Just breathe." The girl nodded and leaned over into his side. The concert was only in a few hours.

All the cars arrived outside the venue and all the boys, plus Eva, flooded the parking lot. Three buses sat parked off in the corner and a huddled group of fans all started screaming at the sight of the musicians. "Let's go," Pete said, smiling and nodding his head towards the group. Everyone followed and the muffled screams of the fans grew louder. Panic filled Eva as she headed towards the back of the musicians, but walked forward anyway. She would seem ungrateful and bratty if she didn't go, but travelling mixed with the thought of performing already made her feel anxious. Adding in a bunch of people meeting their idols didn't seem like the best thing to do. Someone's arm wrapped around her shoulders. It was Joe.

"It can be a lot, but it'll be over soon." he whispered, not letting go of his grip on her as he watched everyone get somewhat mobbed. It was all flashes of cameras and pens clicking and murmurs of how the music changed some peoples lives. Eva stood off to the side and listened. It was kind of amazing hearing all the stories and seeing the guys faces contort with emotion at them. Her peaceful view got interrupted when two girls came up to Joe. He smiled at them as they ignored Eva and talked on. In a matter of sixty seconds, a camera was handed to Eva. "Could you take the picture?" the blonde girl asked snottily. Brushing it off, Eva nodded and lifted the phone in front of her face, pressing the button a few times then checking the pictures to make sure it wasn't blurry. The girl hugged Joe then walked off, leaving her phone in Eva's hands and her friend in her dust. "Thanks," the other girl said, much more kindly, to Eva while taking her friend's phone and running after her. "Some people have no manners," Eva marveled as Joe replaced his grip over her shoulders.
