CHAPTER I: ALONE

Alone

The word that I  use to describe my situation.

Me? I'm Mary Katherine Smith,13 years old.I trust no one since the apocalypse started. My parents died during this apocalypse.

*flashback*

Before the apocalypse started, me and my family lives in a hospital. Sounds weird,isn't it? But my mom is a doctor while my dad is a scientist so we live here. Me and my sister study in a public school near our house.

Monday,August 21,2010

Me and my sister,Chloe are walking from school. On our way back to the house,we see a girl crying,helpless. We walked near her,and we saw her stomach,cracked open. We run to our house and as we enter,the hallways are empty. We run to the backside of the hospital,we saw people burying corpses but before they burry corpses,they stab it on its head. As I watch them,teatrs started to build up. Their family aren't there,they didn't gave their loved ones a peaceful burial. And my tears started to fall and my dad saw me so he carry me to our room. He injected us something and he told us to pack clothes,food and some personal belongings. I packed five shirts,three pamnts,three socks,some underwear ,hairclips and pins,scissors, four bottles of water,chips,pen,notebook,my gun and katana.I secretly bought my gun and katana because I think I need it someday. So when we finished packing our things,my dad bought or should I say get a car and we drive to Atlanta.

After two years of living and surviving in our small camp,a group of men entered the camp. They raped my mom and killed her. My dad tried to save my mom but they killed him by stabbing him in his chest. Me and my sister hide behind the bushes,crying. Its hard for us to see our parents dying. After a few minutes,the group of men leaved our camp. We pack food and water but before we leave, I remember the things that my dad injected us. There's a note but I didn't read it because we need to hurry. Then me and Chloe started running away from the camp. We run very far from the camp and the sun started to fall down and we need to find a shelter. I checked my watch and its already 6:00 pm. We didn't find any shelter so we decided to climb a tree and sleep to be safe.

The next morning,I woke up and Chloe isn't beside me. Even her things aren't here so I waited for a few minutes..

An hour passed and I'm starting to worry so I find her but there are no signs of Chloe. So I just find a shelter and I did found one.No walker inside. I just cry for hours and sleep.

*End of Flashback*

I still live in this shelter. I got shocked when I realized that its been a year that I've lost all of them. That I didn't save my parents even though I can kill them with my bare hands and that I didn't took care of my sister. ''I'm so coward and selfish!'' I shouted. I cried and shouted then I realized that I shout too loud but luckily, I didn't attract walkers. Then I fall asleep....
