Me- Jack, I'm sorry. I really am but I think I need to tell you something...
Jack- why are you sorry about it ?
Me- I don't want to be an inconvenience...
Jackster- you never already. Never will be.
Me-Thanks Neighbor
Jackster- in fact Janie, you mean a lot to me. It's been nice having you here this year.
"Great!" I groan throwing myself onto the couch hitting my head against the back of it.
"You okay?" Haylee asks popping a grape into her mouth while searching through Netflix. She turns on TEOTFW. I close my eyes at the headache forming.
"No. How do I tell Jack?" I say handing her the phone. A few minutes later she looks mortified.
"JANIE YOU CAN'T TELL HIM OVER TEXT!!!" She shrieks.
"Oh okay okay I'm sorry." I say taking the phone back. It vibrates only a second later.
Jackster- anyways what were ya gonna say?
Me-never mind. Just forget it.
Jackster-okay!
"So how do I tell him" I ask laying down and eating a couple grapes.
"Idk, over dinner, tell him to come hang out, just casually bring up he is a brother?" Haylee says paying more attention to the show.
Jackster- let's hang out?
Me- Haylee is over but you can join us.
Jackster- be there in five
"Jack is coming over." I tell Haylee. She nods and continues to watch the show. I try to focus for the long ten minutes that Jack takes to come over.
Finally the door knocks and I run across the wood floors, sliding at the end.
"Hey Jane!!" He says. I smile at him. He is the first to call me my shorter name.
"What's up Jack!" I giggle letting him into the house.
"Jane and Jack. Sounds like a tv show!" Haylee calls from the couch. Jack throws his head back on that one.
"Has a nice ring to it!" He says winking. I nervously giggle as he makes his way to the couch, me walking back with him.
"What do you guys wanna do?" I ask them.
"Video games?" Haylee asks.
Jack laughs. "Just because I'm a guy doesn't mean we have to play like Call of Duty all the time."
"She wasn't saying that for your sake! Haylee is obsessed with Mario Kart." I laugh. He smirks.
"Okay but I call princess peach!" That all sends us into an explosion of laughter. We set up the game and get our characters. Jack actually chooses Peach which makes me laugh.
"You gonna do it?" Haylee asks.
"I'll do it later tonight." I say.
We play for three hours until Jacks mom is yelling at him to come home over the phone.
We head to the door.
"Bye Neighbor!" He says.
"By Jackster." I smile.
I blew it.
