What To Do Part 26

Ever since Eren started to live live with Mikasa and Armin, things started to change. Or rather, Eren was starting to change. He was always out doing God knows what and came back in the morning. He barely got any sleep and refused to tell anyone what he was doing. Eren's mom called many time but he would never answer the phone. Mikasa and Armin were getting worried as fuck by the second month. Each passing day Eren seemed to grow more impatient, more irritated, and even more angry. Anything would tick him off. It was almost impossible to talk to him anymore. Armin tried and tried to help Eren in any way, but even after Eren told them he needed help, he would never let either one of them do so. 

Mikasa got into many fights with him. Telling Eren he was being a dick to everyone and that he needed to relax a bit. It would then be followed by Eren yelling at Mikasa telling her to fuck off and leave him alone. There was nothing for then to do. What could they do? Eren was different. It's like if someone else was controlling him. Something changed in him the day that Eren attacked Erwin. Something switch on and made Eren changed completely. No one could get close to Eren anymore. Anyone but that damned Levi. It was his fault! It's his fault that Eren changed! If he would have never appeared none of this would be happening! That's at least what Mikasa thought. Of course, Armin didn't feel the same way. He thought that it was Eren's own fault for acting like that. He was just mentally sick. Eren would have changed drastically with just falling in love with someone. It didn't matter who it was. Levi had nothing to do with it. 

Either way, they both felt awful. They couldn't do anything to help Eren. Nothing at all. 

"Wait," said Armin. " What if we contact Levi and bring him here? He might be able to help Eren in someway or another. I mean, isn't Levi leaving the reason why Eren became like that? If we convince Levi to meet us then maybe, just maybe, we can make him talk some sense into Eren. Eren will only listen to Levi. In the end, Levi pretty much has Eren's heart in his hands."

At that last statement Mikasa flinched and glared at Armin. She hated it, but she knew that was true. Levi was probably the only person that could help Eren. 

"I guess you're right. Well then, let's find him. If we waste anymore time Eren will only start getting worse and worse. I'm just worried that Eren will go running away from us again. I want to go back to how we were before." Mikasa looked down remembering how things were. It was so simple back then. They could hangout like normal. There were times when Eren would completely forget about Levi and just think about his two best friends. Why did things have to change? It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all.

Armin began talking again, getting Mikasa out of her head. "Now that I think about it, I think Eren said that Levi was somewhere in France. If we fly over there it would like us about one hour to get there."

"But what will we do once we get there? We don't know where exactly he is and we don't speak french. It would be hard to find him." 

"Yeah that's true. Even so, I think we can still find him. From what Eren told us a while ago, the Ackerman's are being threatened by some group of people meaning that Levi is probably some place where there isn't many people. He's also with a family member so if we ever stumble upon that family member they might think that we are from that group of people. We have to be extremely careful and look like we don't know anything. Finding where he is shouldn't be much of a problem. With a quick internet search I bet we can find a list of places. We should start with looking into places with the lowest population." Armin began investigating. 

Mikasa was sure that they could find Levi now, but she wasn't so sure that he would agree to go with them. No. They can't give him a choice. They'll have to take Eren with them and make those two meet face to face and hope that something good will come out of that. They just had to hope. She had to hope.

Armin found everything in no time. They were first going to Achères, a commune in France. It's population was about 20,923 people. Not all that small but it was a good start for them. At this point, they just had to tell Eren about the plan. He had to go with them or the plan wouldn't work all that well. Levi without a doubt would refuse to go back to Ireland with them. Who would want to see the person who imprisoned them in a house and threatened them many time with killing their friends? No one. 

Bang!

Eren was back. As usual, he was in  a pissy mood.  His hair was a mess and it looked like he just ran a marathon. He was breathing heavily and was sweating like crazy. 

"Eren we need to talk to you," said Mikasa. "It's about Levi."

Eren turned to Where Mikasa was, wide eyed. "You know where he is? Tell me!" He was stumbling towards Mikasa. She went and got a hold of Eren. What had happened? Was someone chasing him? Something was wrong. 

She said both, Eren and herself, down on a couch. 

"Armin found a few places. We still aren't so sure where he is but we're flying to France tomorrow and you'll come with us. I just need you to do a few things if  we find Levi. Don't go near him. Don't run towards him. Try to talk as little as possible and don't be a threat to anyone. His uncle or whoever it is might hurt you. Obviously we don't know if he is with a family member still but just in case, don't go berserk. Got it." Mikasa tried to be clear as possible and it seemed like it worked. Eren was shaking his head and smiling for once. 

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm so lucky to have friends like you two! Even after I've been such a dick with you guys, you still helped me. I can't tell you how grateful I am and how sorry I am. I've put you through so much lately.  I'll make everything better once I get Levi back. I'll be with you guys more. And I'll be with Levi as well of course. Mikasa, thank you so much." He was smiling so much. It looked so sincere and he looked like the real Eren. The one that cared for his friends and his family. The hot-headed-reckless kid from before.  He even called Mikasa by her name. It's been so long since she's heard Eren say it. He was hugging her tightly. 

'Does knowing that he'll see Levi again make him this happy? I guess I can't even compete against that guy. I just wished that... Eren would have the same reaction with me. That he would get happy just by hearing my name. Just by seeing me. Just by thinking about me. But why doesn't he get like this? I've been with him for so long. I've confessed to him before. So why? Why doesn't he want Levi so badly? He's nothing! He has never shown Eren any affection! Never spoke more than two words to him before so why is Eren so hooked up on that small bitch!'

Eren let go of Mikasa and looked straight into her eyes. 

"Mikasa, when we go to France, please stay there. You can't come back. Before you say anything, listen to m of a sec. Those people who are after the Ackerman's, they found you. They know that I know who you are. When I came here, I went out to look around and think about what to do. They found me and starting asking me question about you. Where you were. What other people where with you, things like that. I've been giving them false info but today they found out about it. We need to leave now."

"Hey Levi, you ready? We need to go Rennes." Kenny shout from the front door. Levi was in the kitchen, getting food for the trip.

"Yeah yeah. Let's go." Both of them left the house and got on the car. When they began driving, Levi got a bad feeling. Like something really, really bad was about to happen. And oh boy he wasn't so wrong about that.   

Yo! Ya miss me? Nah you missed the story lol. Anyways, HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS AND HAVE A WONDERFUL VALENTINES DAY!!!! Wow it's been like two months since I've updated. Damn that's a long time. Welp, thank you all for reading and staying with me for these past two (almost three) years! I know my updates have been rather slow lately but thank you so much for reading this little story of mine. I'll have more (or a few more huehuehue) chapters for you guys in the future!
