A new chapter

Serina's POV

So we've been in new York for a whole week now, by we I mean me, my mum, my twin brother and my mum's boyfriend. I don't know if I should call him step dad or not, but he doesn't deserve that name he's the reason were here and not home with my real dad. I guess that's a story for a different day.

Today's officially my first day at my new high school which by the way I'm dreading, I've never liked school and I'm sure I'm not going to like it any better in a different country. I'm your typical 17 year old, I mind my own business, I don't mix myself with the wrong crowd and I keep my head down most of the time.

I never really had many friends back home, well I had a best friend but I caught her kissing my 'boyfriend' so that didn't turn out well. Ever since then I just kept to myself and focused on my education, but I can't help but feel like things are going to be different this time around.

"SERINAAAA " ughhhhhhh these people don't understand that I'm a girl and I take a little while to get ready.

"I'LL COME UP IF YOU DON'T COME DOWN STAIRS RIGHT NOW" I love my mum but sometimes I really want to fight her.

"I'M COMING CHILL OUT" as soon as I said that my door burst open revealing a very angry women.

"Serina I thought we weren't going to be shouting down the whole house anymore" she said.

"Mum you started it, and look I told you I was coming I'm already ready" as I said that she looked me up and down and I could see a smile forming on her face.

"You look great hun, now come on Joshua is waiting in the car for you" she grabbed a hold of me and engulfed me in one of her monster hugs.

Now don't get me wrong my mum is very VERYYYYY annoying but she's the best mum ever. I ran downstairs and  grabbed my phone from the charger and ran out the house and went straight in my brothers car.

"Finally what took you so long?" he groaned.

"I didn't even take that long, don't over exaggerate everything" he just laughed.

Me and my brother are very close we tell each other everything and he's always looking out for me, but like my mum he can also be the most annoying person in the world. My twin brothers been annoying me since we were in my mums belly together.

"Are you nervous" Joshua asked.

"A little, I just don't know what to expect"

" well that makes the two of us, don't  worry we'll be fine, especially if your seen with the sexiest boy ever" he was so vain it hurt.

"I don't see Harry styles or chris hemsworth anywhere" I replied.

He didn't have anything to say after that so I just turned on the radio and smirked.

Finally after a very long drive we were here, as Joshua was parking I already saw people giving us weird looks. Joshua parked his car and was about to step out of the car but I grabbed his arm before he could.

"They're all looking at us"

"It's going to be okay just follow my lead" he told me with a smirk.

Joshua stepped out of the car and walked around and opened the door for me and I stepped out the car. All  eyes were on us, Joshua just smiled down at me and I smiled back as we started to walk through the doors. When we stepped in the school  it was worse than the car park,you could literally here a pin drop everyone was silent and just watching us. I saw girls staring at Joshua and the boys were looking at me up and down. I shuffled uncomfortably.

A girl walked towards us and offered to take us to the principals office. We followed her slowly ignoring the stares. I looked at my twin and knew he was loving the attention by the smirk on his face.

We came out of the Principles office with our schedules and our locker numbers. Me and my brother had three classes together and his locker was right next to mine.

We parted ways and I walked to my History class. I walked in silence to my classroom. Silence. I love silence. Its hard for me to get silence though because my brother is so annoying. I opened the door to the classroom and all heads turned towards me. I walked towards the teacher and introduced myself ignoring all the wolf whistles and the whispering. He pointed at my seat and I walked towards it. I sat next to a brunette girl with long wavy hair and spoke,

"Hey, I'm Serena."

"Hi"she said nervously. "I'm Olivia"

We spoke a bit when suddenly a note was passed to me. I saw a blonde cheerleader looking at me. I opened the note and it said 'Hey new girl,wait for me after class?' I looked up at her and nodded. She gave me a smile then looked at the professor.
