Don't you just hate it when life has some unexpected turns and crosses in the road? Well I do, and mine just took a very sharp turn for the worst. Before I go in to detail I suppose you should know who is telling this story for the most part. My name is Corrissa, but those who know me call me Cora. Before you ask I don't have friends, everyone just doesn't like me because I, no matter what, act like a tomboy and come to school smelling like horse. Anyway the day my life changed started out normal.

"Cora, Cora, Cora halewell! I swear to god if you are late to school I will skin you alive," screamed my mother.

"Okay I'll be right there!" I yelled back. I didn't have time for a shower so I squeezed in to my skinny jeans and a spaghetti-strap tank top. "I'm ready," I ran down the stairs to grab some breakfast.

Lets get one thing straight, my mom and I don't act, or look, alike. She says I'm my dad then her. The only thing I got from her in the gene pool was her deep purple eyes.. My hair, to most people, looks like a black flame with the dark red tips. While my twin, Stace, and mother look creepily alike with their blond hair and deep blue eyes.

Running past my mother and out in to the barn I was greeted with the familiar welcome nickers of the horses. As I walked past I echoed their names in my head; apple jack, coco, Jamie, max, jaylo... As I came to the last stall I looked in to peek at Trenton my 16 hand tall, chesnut gelding. "Hey trent, how are you boy? Huh?" I cooed as I rubbed his head. I took a moment to look at him, he had grown from the scragely colt he had once been. Grown tall and out, his muscles evident from the years of competing in cross country and jumping. All of my horses are champions, I was very proud of them.

Jolted out of my thoughts I was head butted by a very impatient horse. I chuckled, "okay, okay, I'll hop to it." Then set to work feeding and letting them out. By the time I was finished I smelled like horse and didn't have time to take a shower. I shrugged and kissed trent on the nose before running to the car. Little did I know things were never going to be the same again.

[I wanted to stopped there but it just seemed so short and kept going XP]

The day past by in a blur of tests and tears, today was the end of school until next year! An then I will officially be a senior. After school I walked to the car where our mom was waiting, "hey sweetie, how was school?" she asked as I got in the back and my sister climbed in to the front. "Okay, I'm so glad schools out," stace said, "summer's gonna rock!" I rolled my eyes as we pulled out of the parking lot.

You know how people say your life flashes before your eyes when you die? Well either what happened next was too fast for it to happen or its utter bull shit, but either way it didn't happen. One moment we were driving the next there was a flash and we were up-side-down. My sight was hazy and as it cleared I saw two limp figures in front of me. "Mom?" I whimpered, "Stace?" The forms didn't move, silent. There was an ache in my head but nothing more, the blood was starting to rush to my head as I something wet and red trickled down and pooled on the roof of the car. I struggled to unlatch the seat belt forgetting it was the only thing keeping me from the floor. When I finally got it off I landed on my head and forearms, which were covered with broken glass.

I could hear the sirens in the distance and began crawling out of the broken window. I heard people shouting orders and saw lights flashing. "Help!" I managed to cough out loud enough for people to hear me, they must have heard me because there was the sound of pounding feet and my body was lifted before everything went black.
