"Fuck!" I muttered to myself as I jumped up from bed and checked the time on my phone..it was currently 10:30am and I was now an hour late for work. My boss was going to kill my ass.

I worked over at Forever 21 and the boss over there was completely rude to all of us. But she know not to fuck around with me when she see that I'm workin hard, because last time she tried that the security had to come in and I had to tell him all the bullshit this lady be up to. Could've quit that day, but I really need the money and have been saving up this whole summer.

I took a quick shower and did my hygiene and quickly found some regular jeans and a t-shirt, put on my all white adidas all in other 20 minutes. I hurried and grabbed my phone and mini backpack and the stairs.

"Auntie, can I please burrow your car? I'm late for work."

"Again?" My Aunt Bri said looking annoyed. She rolled grabbed her keys off the kitchen counter and tossed them to me and I caught it.

"Thanks!" I said as I rushed out the door and walked down the steps of our town house. We lived in Crossroads Homes, people usually just call it the projects because it was filled with thugs, crackheads, prostitutes, you name it. I walked down the steps to see my big brother with a one of his friends smoking a blunt.

"Mornin' luh sis. Where you goin?"

"Work!" I yelled as I ran into Aunt Bri's car and drove off.

"Gold you're late. REAL late." One of my co-workers/good friend Ryanne said to me as I hurried up and checked in.

"I know, I know. I forgot to set my alarm this morning and I overslept." I explained as I put my ID on and walked over to the cash register.

"Well Hannah (the boss) has a whole bunch of boxes at the back that needs to be unpacked, she asked for you like ten minutes ago and I came up with an excuse." She said and I sighed in relief.

"Oh god thanks you're a life saver. I owe you."

"Don't bother. But hurry up and do somethin before she come and see you!" She said and I rushed to the back and began unpacking boxes after boxes with clothes, shoes, accessories etc.

7:00

Finally my shift was over and it was time for me to go home. I was so tired and hungry good thing the mall actually closes at 8 so I found this little burger joint. Iv'e ate here before and their burgers and basically everything they sell here is good as fuck so I ordered me a bacon cheese burger with some fries and a sprite. It was a total of $13.96 and I had about $70 cash in my wallet so I took out a $20 and got my change and they wrapped it up for me in a takeout bag and I put it in my backpack. I turned around and was rushing out the mall because right now I was just tryna go home, eat, and relax.

I was walking until somebody bumped into me making me spill half of my drink on the floor.

"Oh shit.. My fault, can I buy you another one?" A deep, sexy voice said. I looked up from picking up my cup from the ground and I saw a tall, darkskin guy, he most definitely looked like he have money, his hair was in a neat low-cut with gorgeous waves.

"U-uh no, no. You don't have to..thanks." I said softly. Damn he was mighty fine.😭

"Aight coo.. you look familiar.." he said looking up and down at me. I tried not to keep to much eye contact with him because I would start blushing.

"Oh! You ma nigga Prince luh sista. That was you comin' out Prince house this mornin' right?" He asked finally recognizing who I was.

"Yeah." I said nodding.

He smirked, checking me out.

"Nice to meet chu. I'm Christian. Ey'body call me Chris doe." His southern accent was strong which kinda made him seem even finer. The fact that I couldn't even keep good eye contact with him was embarrassing enough right about now.

"I assume you already know my name already."

"Oh nah, Prince don't really talk bout his people too much."

"I'm Golden."
