in the story, grayson dolan is a lively and adventurous teenager. ethan grant is also a teenager, yet his life thus far has been rather tedious and conservative, due to his parents' constrictions.
grayson lives in new jersey, and ethan santorini. they've both finished school, and grayson wants to travel as much of the world as he can before settling down. ethan wants to do the very same, however, his parents refuse to allow him to leave greece. for the summer, grayson departs from the u.s., and heads to santorini to explore a little. on his journey, he coincidentally meets ethan.
