~(Y/N)'s POV~
"Don't rely on your eyes," says Cole. "Use your ears."
Today is another training day. Lloyd and I are testing our sense of hearing to fight in case one day we lose sight of anything. Honestly, I feel like I've already got this down. My father is just a floating blob of negative energy that can disappear at will, so I had no choice but to rely on my hearing when I was with him. I have to keep my hoodie down for this, though, because they told me to. They said that I won't be able to hear fully if I keep it on. I mean, we have our hoodies on all the time when we fight but it's for practice, I guess.
Lloyd and I wait for anything to happen. All we hear are quiet footsteps; not silent, but quiet. I don't know about Lloyd, but I can also feel their footsteps getting closer, though they're pretty slow and kind of hard to notice.
My ear twitches when I hear someone coming into the room, chuckling nervously and saying, "Uh, guys? I'm teaching a class later, so, uh, I'd appreciate a clean dojo—"
It's Dareth, but I didn't focus on anything else since I suddenly feel a shift on the floor. I quickly move myself from the attacks that are all coming at us at once. I hear fighting, probably from Lloyd and whomever, while I just wait and listen for someone to attack. I hear someone's weapon move towards me, causing me to move back. I hear shackles in the middle of it—it's Jay. I then hear what I think is a sharp weapon at my direction next? It's probably Kai or Cole, but either way I dodge once again. I'm not risking it to grab the weapon.
I then hear something slam on the floorboards. Cole has a scythe so I'm assuming he slammed it down with the wooden part? I start hearing people getting smacked one by one, which I'm guessing is Lloyd's doing. You go, boy, strutting your stuff like that which I cannot see. The hits are starting to get closer to me so I jump over whatever Lloyd is doing and end up landing on someone's chest.
Ah, I hear Zane grunt. I guess I landed on his chest. I don't know about you, but I think my weight from when I was a child changed drastically now that I have muscles, so I don't know how he feels now. He's probably having flashbacks to when I was really light. Oof.
I quickly get off him, not wanting to cause more pain than I already have on him. I also hear someone slam into something that causes a bunch of other items to fall. Whoever it was, they probably slammed onto Dareth's trophy collection. Speaking of Dareth, he starts panicking which confirms my theory earlier—it's his trophy collection.
I don't even know what's happening anymore, a lot of sounds are being made. I'm honestly just dodging everything. It sounds like Lloyd is doing all of the fighting but at the same time it feels like I'm the one being attacked the most.
I CAME HERE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME AND I HONESTLY FEEL SO ATTACKED RIGHT NOW!
"Hey!" I hear a muffled voice from Jay yell. "Open the window, LET ME IN!"
DID LLOYD KICK HIM SO HARD HE WENT OUTSIDE!? HOW!? I DIDN'T EVEN HEAR ANY WALLS BREAKING! WHAT IS EVEN HAPPENING!?
Honestly, all I hear is fire, weapons swinging, people grunting, and a distraught Dareth. Hearing Dareth sound so panicked and Jay being locked out makes this so enjoyable to do that I try not to laugh the entire time.
~3rd POV~
Sensei Wu is still within the Bounty, staring off into the distance like a sad, black and white image of a person next to a window as it rain. He removes his hat, only to have another on his head. He pulls out a picture from within the familiar one that everyone sees: it's a picture of him, his brother, and Misako when they were younger. He continues to stare at it before being startled by a voice—it's Misako. They start off by making small talk before she mentions her true motives.
