"Ma please! Ayoko nga po doon! I'm okay here! We're okay here. What's the problem?" tanong ko sa nanay kong matiim na nakatingin sa akin habang ako ay kunot noong nakatayo sa harap niya.

"You don't understand, Lyrae," salungat na salungat sa mala-anghel niyang pagmumukha ang matigas na ekspresyon na nakikita ko sa ngayon sa mukha niya.

She usually looks soft even when she's mad at me for doing something wrong that's why seeing her expression like this confused me even more.

Ano ang posibleng dahilan kung bakit niya gugustuhing tumira doon kasama ako?

I'm an honor student. Kasali rin ako sa MTAP. The president of our class for 4 consecutive years. I don't have any sports but I play badminton once in a while. Most Active Girl Scout. Dancer of the year. Best in Math & English. I'm living the life she gave me. I'm still enjoying everything I have here.

What could be the possible reason for her to let me leave every good things she asked for me here and move out of the city?

"Y-your father..." natahimik ako sa sinabi niya at pagod niyang tono habang nakita kong nagbabadya na ang mga luha sa mata niya. Sa isang iglap biglang gumuho ang pader sa pagitan namin na binuo niya.

I bit my lip upon seeing how hot pooled tears gushed out from her eyes there I finally saw the reason why she's so eager to make me agree in living on that province.

He's the reason.

"Your father asked me for this. H-he will go home right before your Graduation and he will never leave again," aniya.

Nanlumo ako sa narinig at nanghihinang napaupo nalang sa couch.

"We will start anew just like we always wanted," garagal ang boses na sabi niya.

Just by hearing her tone that comes with pleading. I know I won't have any chance on this.

"Please anak. Make this happen," and with that tumayo na siya at niyakap ako.

All I can do to make her feel good, to comfort her is to agree with her.

Naririnig ko ang mga impit niyang hikbi at nararamdaman ko ang unti-unting pagkabasa ng balikat ko.
