What if I told you I did meet my true love on a random day that I had to work an extra shift? Would you believe me? What if I told you, he fell in love with me instantly too? I get it, its only in the books.

"Hey, Kassidy." My boss, Mike, stopped me for a moment.

"Yeah boss?" I smiled up at him from cleaning off a small table in the corner. He leaned against the table and eyed me.

"Do you mind working tonight? We need some extra workers." He asked with a hopeful voice.

"Yeah, sure! I dont have a game or anything so that'd be perfect." I replied nodding my head as He new I was apart of the spirit club. I looked down at my dirty apron and shook the dust off.

"Great!" He smiled.

I tilted my head to the side as he left me with out a goodbye. I shrugged and wiped the table off one last time. I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"Kas, We need someone at the front desk." My co-worker, Kaitlyn, imformed me. I nodded shyly and made my way towards the desk.

I stood behind the low counter and smiled at the small figured woman standing before me. She sighed and made eye contact with me looking as if she'd shoot daggers at me at all times.

"Could I get just a coffee?" She asked.

"Sure," I nodded. "Could I get your name for your order m'am?" I asked setting the pot on a warmer.

"Iris." She replied coldly.

'This woman is annoying'  I thought as I was getting her coffee.  I turned to put a lid on the cup, as she interrupts, "Could you please hurry up!" as more of a comand than a question.

I can already tell that tonight is going to suck.  I have never worked this shift before, so I'm not sure how the regulars act.

I sighed and set the cup down in front of her. "Here you go, a regular coffee." I smiled sweetly and she yanked it from the counter.

"Thanks." She snarled.

"Atleast I use my manners properly." I mumbled under my breath.

The day had wore on and it was now 8:53 PM. A group of guys walked through the door in baseball uniforms and sat down in a booth to the back of the small shop.

The small radio behind me began to play a familiar tune which caused me to smile and quietly start to sing along.

'I remember when my heart caught the fever..' I sung along as I wiped a puddle of coffee off the back counter and threw the napkin I had wiped it off with in the trash.

'you were standing all alone in the summer heat.' an unfamiliar voice interrupted my singing. I looked up from the note pad I had been drawing in.

"oh uhm, Can I help you?" I asked sweetly meeting view with a pair of blueish orbs.

"Yeah, Can I get a sweet tea and a blue berry biscuit?" He asked with a smile.

I nodded and turned to fetch his food. I poured his tea into a small cup and grabbed a biscuit from the display shoving it into a small bag.

"Here you go." I smiled and pushed his food toward him. He smiled back and walked over to his friends at the table who were talking quite loudly.

I caught his gaze again as he sat down which caused me to laugh.

The guys he had been sitting with had started to get up to leave but  the one who ordered had stayed. He stood up after awhile and made his way over to the counter.

"Hungry again?" I teased.

"No, I just came over here to chat."

"Oh, so your lonely?"

"No, I'm bored."

"Nice to meet you bored, I'm Kassidy." I grinned and stuck my hand out to him.

"Actually, my names Scotty." He smiled and gladly accepted my hand.

"Well, Scotty, you have some dirt on your cheek." I laughed.

"Well, your going to have to wipe it off."

I shook my head no and turned to unplug the coffee burner for the night.

"Now why would I have to do that?" I asked in a flirty voice.

"Because, I don't know where it is."

"Alright, weirdo" I said, while leaning over the counter to wipe the dirt off of his face.

"Why thank you Kassidy" Said Scotty, in his amazing deep voice.

"No problem." I said walking around the counter.

"Are you closing up already?"

"Yeah, do you wanna help? We could hang out after we are done." I said in a hopeful voice.

I really didn't want to stay here by myself. It kind of creeped me out.

"Okay, sounds good. What do you need help with?"

"Well, I have to wipe off your table. And then I have to put all of the food in the desplay thingy into the kitchen, and then we can go." I said with a smile.

"Well lets get to work!" He said, and walked over to the table he was previously sitting at with his friends, clearing it off.
