Katrina's POV

“Open wide,” Nathan said with a hovering spoon full of ice cream outside my lips. It was rocky road, not mouth-watering for me but this is his favorite type of ice cream.

“I can feed myself, you know.” I said eyeing the big chunk he wanted me to put in my mouth. His blue eyes were shinning as he held out the melting treat for me.

“I know, I just want to do cliché couple things together. Now come on, open for papa.” I groaned and opened my mouth since I couldn’t say no to him. His movements were slow and careful as fed me the ice cream, his eyes staying on my lips. Once I was left with a really big mouth full of ice cream, he smiled and licked the spoon.

“What?” He asked when I started jumping up and down in my seat. I could not swallow all that and it was making my mouth really cold.

“ashpki!”

“What?”

It took me a long time before I swallowed the last of the ice cream and said, “It was so coooold!” I put my hands to my mouth trying to give it some heat back. “You gave me too much. You’re really bad at cliché things.”

Nathan laughed and the sound of it washed away my anger and the brain freeze I was having. His dimples were showing, a rare sight as he continued to laugh. The way he sat casually in the chair and purposely leaned towards me, causing him to be in the sun made him look like he was an angel. Light tanned skin, defined jaw, wavy blonde locks, white pearls of teeth and striking blue eyes made him the most handsome man I ever met. And I was his girlfriend…

I just shook my head trying to take a mental picture. I guess it was worth it if I got to see that.

“Sorry,” He said as the laughter died down. “I’ll try to be better at cliche things next time.”

My heart was not beating at all as I slowly opened my eyes to the cruel present. That was such a good way to start my day, reliving a memory of my past. Why did my stupid brain have to dream of that?

Not long did blood rushed back out my heart causing a scorching heat of pain in my chest. I didn’t even flinch as I lay stiff in my bed. God, how much it hurt to even bealive.

Anarchy, my dog, wagged its way into my room and sensed my sadness right away. It ran towards me and stood on its back legs to look up at me with his head titled to the side. I was barely learning how to move my body again after that harsh blow to the heart so he whined when I didn’t reach down to pet him to tell him I was okay.

“Hey, Anarchy. I’m fine. Are you hungry? Who wants breakfast?” He barked which was a big yes. “Alight, go get me my slippers!” He ran out of the room lighting fast as I rubbed my eyes. He made me smile since I hadn't even taught him that trick. Pushing the sheets aside I tried to forget the sound of Nathan’s laugh still ringing in my head.
