***Amanda***

"Congratulations to the first in her class, Amanda Nicholas."

"Congratulations to the second and third in their class, Lysandre and Xavier."

"Congratulations to the top im classroom studies in her class, Kyta McLaren."

"And lastly, the two youngest in their class, Lauren Campbell and Peter Baker."

I blinked as the people in the audience clapped. I grinned, feeling fulfilled with myself and my efforts.

"Lysandre and Xavier---which regiment will you be joining?"

"Survey Corps!" The twins replied in unison. The crowd gasped, whispers of their insanity filling my ears. They stepped back and my father looked at Kyta, my cousin.

"What will you be joining?"

"Same." More whispers filled the air.

"Lauren, Peter, what will you be joining?"

"We, uh, want some time to think about it." My father nodded and looked at me.

"Finally, Amanda, my only daughter...what will you join?" I hesitated, mouth slightly open as I glanced around the audience.

"I don't....I don't want to do this...I don't want to throw my life away..." Everyone gasped and looked at me and my father.

"I see. Everyone, the 3rd cadet corps I have trained!" The crowd applauded and left, leaving only us behind.

"Amanda! Why did you do that? Your father will be pissed!" The others bombarded me with questions except for my cousin.

"That was a really dumb move, Ams...I don't know how he'll react."

"Kyta, don't worry about it. Go home to your family. I'll be fine."

"You are six years younger that me and I'm supposed to trust you to be fine!? I can't do that, not with how hard he works you! He'll run you to death!"

"I'm going home. Safely." I spun on my heel and walked to my house. I opened up the door, seeing my father with his head in his hands, a bottle of whiskey next to him. I walked up to him and put my hand on his shoulder.

"Daddy?" No answer.

"Daddy?" Still no answer.

"Da--"

"How? How did I think that I could trust you to make your own decisions at your age? You're only 13! You're still indecisive...I need to go the bed. Goodnight Amanda." I watched my father leave to his room, leaving me in the kitchen when--

"Young lady!? Young lady!?" I woke up to one of the soldiers shaking me. I felt a tear slide down my cheek, making it's way to the blanket.

"Y-yes?" I yawned, stretching at the same time.

"We're here...but do you want to do this? You kept muttering things in your sleep."

"Yes...I-I need to. Thank you." I got out of the cart and waved goodbye to the soldiers who had so graciously helped me. I walked to the gate, opening it with my slender hands, and walking through it. As I strolled through the courtyard, a familiar ping hit my chest. This is where dad worked...I thought. I opened up the door to the tall structure, making my way through the halls. A familiar voice stopped me in my tracks. Kyta?? I opened the door and several people stared at me, including one familiar face.
