Eren ran a loose hand through his hair, pushing his practice clothes into the quaint locker before him. The room was filled with the conglomerated noises of shower water, low, husky voices, and metal doors slamming shut. Steam from the showers nearby gathered over the baseball team's heads, but the only thing really hanging in the atmosphere was the Friday night excitement coursing through each of them.

"Hey, Yeager!" He turned to greet Reiner, one of the MVPs on the team, who was jogging up to him with a slick grin on his face. "You headed to Krista's party tonight? It'll be a blast, I heard that Annie Leonhart's gonna be there." He snickered to his buddy, smirking at all the whistles he got at his remark."

"Nah, man, I've got a date with Victoria, maybe next time." There was a chorus of laughs and complaints throughout the circle that had gathered around him, but he just leaned back against his locker, ignoring the reaction.

"Why you so hung up on that chick? She's kind of a loser, I mean, compared to-"

"Hey! That's my girl you're talking about!" Eren interrupted, his anger flaring dramatically. He took a dangerous step closer to the buff blonde male, gleaming green eyes narrowing as they peered up into Reiner's thin beady ones.

"Chill, Eren, he's just joking!" Bertholdt responded, frantically waving his hands, desperately trying to keep the peace as the two boys stared each other down.

"It's not a joke." Eren growled, slamming his locker shut, startling the room into silence. "I'm leaving. Bye." He picked up his bag, chin tilted up high, strutting out, vision blurred with fury.

"How the hell could he say that?! He doesn't even know her!" He muttered, mumbling passionate words in trepidation before furiously kicking a rock, and successfully bruising his toe. He cried out, swearing and tripping into the fence by the walkway, pausing only when he heard light sniffles coming from nearby.

Instantly on alert, he went to investigate, tracing the sobs back to an all too familiar vehicle, a certain blonde emitting the heartbreaking sounds. Eyes wide with shock, he immediately banged against the window, startling her tears to a pause.

"Hey!" he shouted, "What's wrong! Let me in!" She wiped some of the tears away with her sleeve, unlocking the doors and pushing a smile onto her cheeks, a smile that clearly didn't reach her eyes, a smile that was fake.

"Hey, Eren, how was-"

"Don't change the topic, you're crying." He interrupted, folding his strong tan arms across his chest.

"I'm okay. Just sad." His face contorted into confusion, nose wrinkling as he stared into her deep, ocean blue eyes.

"Do you... shit, I'm not very good at this... do you want to talk about it?" She laughed pathetically, hiding her face behind her hair.

"I really am all right. Let's go. I'm looking forward to the movie." He didn't look convinced in the slightest, so, leaning away from the sleek black steering wheel, she playfully smooched the corner of his lips, leaving him stunned and distracted from any sort of pain she was feeling. The whole scenario left him confused and frazzled, but he went along with it anyway, prepared to interrogate her later with his stupid words of motivation that didn't really make any sense, but worked only because they came out of his mouth.
