Seventy Two

two souls in an empty room.
they say if one dreams of another, then the other is dreaming of them too.
but none of them thinks so.
so they tell things that they think they shouldn't say in the real world.

one soul decides to speak one day.
she whispers,
I love you
you and everything that comes with you
you always shine
you're really sweet
you mean good, even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it
you try your best
you care, even though it's rare for some people
your smile, that I always complain about, is the one thing that I missed the most
your ridiculous sense of humor
your definition of god
you

she doesn't know if the other hears it.
but he does.
he listens carefully, but never dares to reply.
he thinks all of it was just a projection straight from his head.
his silently desperate, desperate heart
so he listens, yet his mouth remains sealed.

two souls in an empty room.
one of them hasn't been there in a while.
the other one was getting worried.

this time, the room isn't empty.
it was set as a hospital room.
this time, they weren't the only one there.
people from their memory, friends.
but still, the main characters shone from the others.

two souls meeting again after a while
one waits but denies it
one tries to avoid because of fear
fear that she doesn't belong anymore

the soul that speaks,
even though she knows he isn't real,
ran out of courage to say something
she had let them all out.
of all the nights they spent together in that empty room
she couldn't find her voice
but she can feel bits of it,
bits of what had remained,
jumped in all glory at the smile of the other

the one who finally went past denial
smiled as if it didn't matter that he thinks that it's all merely a lie from his heart
he spoke, after days of listening

you came
you really came.

the other could only think of one thing.
what ridiculous thought were you having?
