Chapter two- Switched At Birth

Ellie: So my mom told me to sit down and I was really confused. *

Mom: Ellie honey; today I received some news. You were switched at birth. I was on the phone with the ceo of the hospital and they were organizing old files and came upon this. Your real family last name is Paul. Apparently after I gave birth my real child died and they gave you to us and they old the Paul's that they're kid died.

Ellie: I just stared at my mom in tears, not knowing what to do I just ran to the mud room put on my shoes and just ran outside. Tears were streaming down my face. After I got to the next neighborhood, I decided to just walk. I was wearing my pajamas, it was really cold and I didn't have a jacket on. I walked back home. I just went straight to bed.

*The next morning

Ellie: I woke up today very late I decided I had to ask my "mom" some questions. As I walked downstairs at the kitchen table there were two men in suits, my "dad", and "mom".

Mom: Ellie, these are Kyle and John, we hired them as lawyers. The Paul's are trying to get custody of you and we're going to fight back

Kyle: Nice to meet you Ellie, Unfortunately you're going to have to go to a private court session which means it will just be me, you, John, the Paul's, and the Paul's lawyers.

John: The Paul's are flew out this morning and we have a conference meeting with them later. But unfortunately your "parents" can't come in the meeting.

Ellie: What I don't want to meet them. I don't care about them. How old are they. Do the Paul's have any kids?

Kyle: Yes they have two sons in their early 20's.

Ellie: IM NOT GOING.

John: You don't really have a choice kiddo, because you're a minor and they're technically you're parents.

Ellie: IM NOT GOING. I screamed as loud as I could.

Dad: Ellie honey, it's better if you meet them now so when you meet them at court it's not that bad.

Later that day*

Ellie: I brushed my teeth, got dressed into black leggings and a gray shirt from Hollister. I got in the car with Kyle and John and I sat in the back on the way there I started thinking about how I knew I look nothing like my family. And that I wonder if I'm going to look like my real family. I fell asleep on the hour drive and woke up to Kyle saying wake up Ellie. I'm always in a bad mood when I wake up so I just said uuggghhh. I got up and as we're walking in I got really nervous and decided not to go in there I tried to run back outside but John grabbed my arm and held me down.
A man in a nice suit came out of a room and the end of the hall. He shook my hand and said you must be Ellie. I shook his hand back. He introduced himself as the Paul's lawyer and his name was Owen.

Owen: *When I saw Ellie my first thought was she was really skinny and short and had hair so light it almost looked white. She had blue eyes and looked like Pam and Logan. I could tell she was nervous. I said out loud your family is in that room. I noticed she turned around and looked like she was going to run away and her one lawyer just picked her up and walked with her to the Paul's room. She was kicking her legs and looked like toddler throwing a temper tantrum. But I understood why she was upset. As soon as we were at the door, her lawyer put we down (still holding

her arm) and we walked in.
