Vinegar and Honey

Chapter 1

My mom always told me "Vinegar and honey are the best ways to keep the cash register clean."  And for the most part she was right. Everyday after school I'd come to the shop and work, after every week or so I'd clean the register (it was old and grimy) so I'd use a solution of 1/4 honey and 3/4 vinegar and wipe it down. My dad kept the shop after my mom passed away. They never really got along until she started to get worse. Of course they loved each other. I just didn't know that until I was older. My dad doesn't know much about fashion, but my mom always kept journals. She used to write all the time. She has like 6 or 7 of those damn things. My dad calls them the "sacred text".i could see it in my dads eyes even though it seemed they hated each other... My dad worshiped my mom...but only because he feels he
didn't treat her right, he felt when ever he did something wrong he would think it would it made her tumor grow. It didn't but he seemed to think so. As I walked into the shop I was greeted by my two brothers Sam and Ethan "Hey joe" Sam said. I smiled back. I didn't really care for saying hi to my brothers. But Sam just is that peppy can do kinda kid. I'm older than Sam not by much though. I'm 15 and he's 13, and Ethan's 17. "Sup shithead." Ethan mutters. "Back at chya'" I reply. my dad was in the back reading, like always. His favorite book genre
seemed to be horror. Never knew what he read though in particular. As I walked over to the cash register I noticed something missing on the wall. "Ethan?" I say expecting him to know what I'm talking about "ya?" He says back "what do you mean yeah? What happened to the pink baseball cap? You know Chelsea's cap? Don't tell me you-" a long pause eroded "..." "I knew it fuck face!" I run over to him and smuggle the hat back. Just because you like her doesn't mean you can go jacking off to her hat." I say sharply "Watch it." Dad says from a distance. I glare at Ethan.
