Hateably handsome

I was busy getting ready. A notification appeared on Thara's mobile. The message read "You, Aadhya,Navi come to the auditorium in the morning."It was an unknown number. I Let her know about the message and since I was included I wanted to know who it was. She called back but there was no response. I called Aadhie to find out who it was.
" Mrng Aadhie, Do u know who's number is this? 99720"
"Its Adhev's." He smirked.I stood silent and glared at Thara. "Okie fyn,come to the auditorium at 9 30. Its my order. See you there." He disconnected the call.
I waited in the auditorium, Adhev arrived with a laptop. Aadhie accompanied him. He connected the laptop,switched on the projector and dimmed all the lights.The whole room was dark like a cinema hall. I was seated in the first row, in a gloomy mood,unaware of what was happening. Aadhie came and sat near me.
"Good morning, Where are the others?"he gave me a punch. "Canteen" I told. I was in no mood to speak either because the room was dim and dark or because I felt I was surrounded by negativity, or may be a human form of negativity. I just gave him a smile and turned towards the projector.Adhev was walking left to right in the room. I liked him working because it could give him the stress he gives to others.
He was busy playing some slides. He looked handsome,or the apt sentence was "He looked perfect". Neatly ironed white shirt, tucked in, a black jean , a tie matching his jean, a rolex watch.(Chocolate brown colour). One of the most favorite colour of mine.
His silky hair moved in the direction of wind ,which he kept on adjusting. His smile was perfect, which would make you think that he had everything in his life. When people see him they would definitely tell ,"He looks like a King". Something about him made everyone like him. But thankfully ,I was not in that everyone's list.
"He is handsome, right?" Aadhie broke my thoughts and smirked at me playfully.
"Shut up Aadhie" I tried to stop looking at Adhev and turned towards him.
"Isn't he handsome?" He asked.
"No, not at all." I said angrily.
"Then why were u starring at him all these time?"
" I just wanted to kill him Aadhie, I never wanna face him".
"Are yu giving me an excuse for starring at him.?"
"No, i was not.. "
"You were, Aadhya!!!"
"I mean I was starring red eyed."
"Tell this to someone who would believe".He said and turned towards the stage.
Adhev took his laptop and came straight to the first desk and sat next to me. I turned towards Aadhie and said, ,"Get up Aadhie"
Never minding he started speaking with Adhev.
"Can you please get up Aadhie?" I almost screamed at him.
"Sit here nah, what's bothering you? " he asked with a cunning smile.
" Dont you know? " I raised my voice a little.
" No way you are going to spend this seminar with me" he ordered.
"It would be pleasant if it is only with you" I said and turned towards the door. Students started occupying the chairs, and the auditorium was almost full. "Where the hell did these idiots go" I was almost scolding them in my mind and sat there helplessly with my headphones on.
Aadhie and Adhev started talking about silly things, with me in the middle not bothering about them.
"Thankgod" I thought when I saw Thara coming into the auditorium, I got up to go with her when Aadhie turned towards me and said "remember what I told, sit down Thara will accompany yu here"
"you are torturing me Aadhie" I said and turned towards Adhev.
"that is what i want baby" he said smirking and started explaining everything to Thara.
Auditorium was full, the chief guest arrived and the function was about to start. Arrangements were going on, each one in the auditorium was busy with their own work, I and Thara shared a wicked look .I was sure that she had no idea of what was happening. Our senior started reading the welcome note. Things were going on good suddenly our tutor called out "dev"
As usual both of us ended up turning and as expected it was Adhev whom she wanted. There was a mistake in the connection and he was wanted to make it right.
He stood up, turned towards me, looked at my bag and said "have this with you" handling over his file to me he walked past.
I was struck for a second, waitt!! Whaat!! How did he speak with me?
I turned and looked at Thara whose reaction was as the same as mine. I was terribly shocked.
After 5 minutes he came back and sat near me like nothing happened. My mind was disturbed with different thoughts, but I starred at the speaker, pretending to listen.
My mobile vibrated,.. I opened and found no notifications or calls.
And then I noticed the file, it was Adhev's mobile vibrating. I took the file from the lap and kept it on the table.
He opened his file took a paper and wrote,
"have it with you, il get afterwards"and a smiley along with it.
I can swear and say he was giving me heart attacks after heart attacks but I didnt react.
I turned the paper back and wrote "your phone is vibrating"and gave it to him.
He saw the paper and smiled at it. What was so funny in that? I asked to myself. He wrote something and gave it to me.
" thats ok, have it in ur bag il get it from yu in the afternoon" and "nyc handwriting yaar" and a smiley following it.
I took the file and kept inside my bag, and pretended to listen to the seminar. I had many things going on inside my mind, I wanted thara to be with me to share everything. I turned towards her. Aadhie was busy talking with her. Getting into their discussion didnt mean so good to me. Now I had only 2 ways either I had to listen to the seminar or talk with Adhev. The first was better than the second. So no other go I started listening to the seminar.
The seminar lasted untill 12 and then we were asked to disperse. We had no class in the afternoon so I decided to take a nap. I turned to look at Thara who was still speaking something with utmost intrest. I didnt want to disturb her so i txtd her, came downstairs and found Navi seated in the cafe.
"what are yu doing here?" i askd her.
"Didnt wanna cum there bbe" she started speaking and we both started walking towards hostel.
When I opened the door my first thought was to throw off everything and just sleep. I entered in, removed my shoes, threw my bag on the table, and fell on the bed the next thing I remembered was I got up hearing my mobile's ringtone.
It was an unknown number, I attended the call and stayed silent.
"Is this dev?" askd a male voice.
"yes,speaking,. Yourself? " I replied wondering who he was.
"A guy from whom u never expected a call" replied the voice.
" Come again" I said
"a_guy_from_whom_u_never_expected_a_call" he said slowly.
"Dhev? " I replied. I knew I was totally haunted.
" you have taken something frm me and I have lost something to you. Remember??" he said smirking which I could hear from his voice.
"Are yu drunk?" I asked laughing.
"Who the hell drinks in the afternoon?? Forget that, I want to meet yu @ 6 in the cafeteria." he said this in one breath and stopped.
"Why should I?" I got up and sat in the bed with folded legs.
"You should and while you come bring me something." I guessed he was playing but how come Adhev is doing all these.
"you mean?' I stayed silent and my voice was so soft.
I gave you something today morning and u forgot to give me back.remember?" he said softly.
"Oh gosh.. Ur file!! " I'm sorry I was so tired that I forgot.
" 6pm cafeteria.. Don't forget.. Okie" he said laughing.
Okie I will,.. bye' i cut the call. And sat there haunted. I still could not believe it was Adhev who spoke to me. I checked the tym it was 5 30. I got up and started getting ready aftr 10 minutes. I saw Naviya sleeping peacefully so I closed the door of my room and went downstairs with the file. I started walking to the cafeteria.
Once I reached, there was another heart attack waiting for me. Adhev and another guy were sitting in the cafe discussing something.
"Oh my god, this guy has the habit of coming early and waiting" I thought to myself.
When he saw me coming he waved his hand towards me and to my surprise he smiled.. WHAT yeah he really SMILED.. Adhev was not a guy of this character I thought. Obviously he was looking so different today, not only his looks but his mannerisms, he reacted like he was so soft, good hearted one,. I thought may be because of the guy who was seated next to him. And that was when I realised there was a person near him. When he noticed me looking at him he smiled at me and said "hai". I replied back with a formal hii and gave the file to him and I was about to walk.
"Wait ,Where are you going? " Adhev asked.
" I'll leave Adhev" I replied.
"Just have a cup of coffee " he smiled at me.
" How could he just fake his smile? " I thought.
" No adhev, I have to go, Navi is alone in the room and I came without informing"
"ahhh,. Thats okie you text her, spend this evening with me? ' I was terribly shocked to hear this.
"did he really wanna speak with me nd become my friend or is this idiot acting" I thought and just gave back a smile.
"you are Aadhya right?" the guy who was sitting with Adhev askd me
'yes nd you' i questioned back.
"Steve Rodriguez, you can call me. Steve " he replied.
" He is the new comer of our class" said Adhev interrupting our speech.
Steve was good looking, thin, tall, his black shirt matched his color and his voice was so soft, when he spoke. The way he spoke made me think that he was a very friendly type guy. We sat there discussing everything about our classes, our families, etc. And then I came to know that he was adhev's neighbour. And that was why he had come here. Something made me like him, may be the way he spoke made me think he would be my good friend or may be because he didnt like Adhev. That made us close I guess.
"and the number i texted you was his number" Adhev spoke pointing out at him.
"oh thats okie il save" I said looking at Steve.
For the first tym i saw Adhev tensed, may be he didnt like me and Steve talking, I felt he got irritated.. If it is so then that would be my business everytime. But it was good to see him lyk that.
He quickly grabbed his file and searched for something, he took out his mobile and then turned to me nd asked "give me your number" I saw him with utmost surprise. According to my knowledge Adhev can never ask lyk this to a girl. But yeah he behaved so differently today.
"get it from Steve" I told and looked at Steve with a wicked smile.
I guess he understood the same as I did and started telling my number with the same wicked smile.
I wondered how we both mingled so easily.
Our coffee's arrived and we started drinking it silently. After finishing my coffee I decided to go, and greeted them with a thank yu for the coffee and then turned towards Adhev bid him a bye for which he replied with a smile. Something was different in his smile, his dimples, frankly telling I realised why girls always crowd around him. I turned and left the place.
I started walking and when I reached the hostel I received a msg from an unknown number "Its my num- dhev" all i could do was smile at seeing that, his irritated face was the only thing flashed before me,.. With the same smile on my face I ended up saving his number as "HATEABLY HANDSOME'.
