After Davis left I stood up and saw him disappear under the silent night. Then, I went back inside and to my room. Where I saw Daisy on her phone. When I walked in, she looked up from her phone to me. "How did it go?" she asked. "He's leaving to Colorado," I cheerlessly said. "What? Why?" Daisy asked surprised. I didn't answer her. So instead I lay in bed and I closed my eyes, trying not to think about it.
That same night I woke up to the sound of the fire alarm. It was 3:00 A. M. Daisy wasn't in my bed anymore. I assumed that she went home. There was a clump of smoke in the whole room. I quickly got up and ran to my mom's bedroom. She was already up. When she saw me she ran into me and dragged me to the kitchen trying to get me out of the house. I was half asleep so it took me a moment to realize that the house was on fire. When we were in the doorway I stopped before getting out. I went back and grabbed a photograph of my dad that was lying on a table close to the doorway and the painting that Davis gave me that night. When I had them in my hands I heard my mom scream, "Let's get out of here Aza!" I started moving but it was hard to get through all the fire. The smoke started getting into my lungs and I started to feel dizzy. All of the sudden I heard someone yelling my name "Aza!" it was Davis. I couldn't see him very well. But I recognized his voice. When he found me he carried me and took me outside. Everything was so blurred. I couldn't breathe anymore. I could hear my mom crying in the background. "Don't leave me please," she said with her face full of tears.
