Chapter 1

I awoke in a strange metallic box. The air was stale and it was dark and cold. I pressed my knees against myself shivering. "Damn, why is it so freaking cold.... where am I?'' I tried to focus my vision, but it was too dark. I got up shakily and tried to look for a way out. No luck. I looked up to what I thought was the ceiling, but there wasn't a way out there either.

Where the hell am I..... I thought.

I tried screaming, but it didn't work. My voice just echoed off the walls and came back at me. Then all of a sudden the box started to move, like an elevator. Gravity pulled me to the ground, I grunted when I hit the ground. The metal scraped against the outside, making a horrible noise. I covered my ears. I wanted to scream, cry, and die. This already seemed like hell.

Soon the box came to a stop, and everything was still again. I could hear the faint noise of birds and the wind. I got up carefully, scared that the strange metal box might move again. ''Hello? Is anyone there?'' I said, my voice sort of shaky.

No answer.

I groaned and slammed myself against one of the metal walls, frustrated and confused. The strangest part was that I couldn't remember anything that had happened to me. All I remember is being in this box. And that my name was Juni. I didn't remember any of my childhood, nor what my past life was like. I didn't even know what my age was. I sat back down and thought, waiting, hoping for someone to get me out of this cold, hellish box.

After a while I heard footsteps, above me.

Coming closer.

Voices yelling at each other.

I grew a bit scared, but if they were going to kill me, I wasn't going down without a fight. I got up and took a deep breath, listening to the voices above. They were barely audible.

''Quit your yappin' Mark!!!''

''I aint' doin' anything! Shut the hell up and let's see who's in here this time!!''

''What if it's a girl o:''

The same voice at the beginning talked again, it was a male voice, and sounded strong.

''I said quit your yappin'!''

The ceiling all of a sudden started to open, I jumped to the side. How could the ceiling do that?! I thought. The bright sunlight came into the box, almost blinding me. I scowled and squinted trying to see who was there. A rope was thrown down and I wasn't sure to grab it or not. Am I supposed to use this to get up? Or hang myself... I thought. I shrugged and grabbed a hold of the rope, and was soon hoisted up.

The air was much fresher here. But the feeling of relief only lasted a few seconds, as people surrounded me and looked at me strangely. They were all boys, no girls here.

Well shit, I thought.

The one who spoke before took a step forward, he was a darker skinned guy, his hair almost shaven completely off. He had a stern look and looked like he could break all my limbs if he wanted to, I kind of shivered at the thought.

''Well lookie here everyone, we got ourselves a newbie girl.'' He turned to everyone whos expressions immediately turned to shock. I shuffled slightly, nervous at the thought that they might kill me since I was the only girl.

''Wow.''

''I knew it!!! I knew it Arby!'' A pale skinned, red haired boy jumped up and down, he looked about 12 or 14 years old. I kind of giggled at the sight, but immediately went quiet when the dude turned back to face me, his face still stern. ''This aint' right, for the past years all we've been gettin' is boys, no girls.'' Everyone whispered to each other, and I grew nervous again.

''What if she's a spy from them?!''

''What if she's a traitor??''

Anger grew inside of my chest. How dare they accuse me of being a spy. And who were them?? I was so confused and angry. ''Now listen here you jack-heads. I'm not a freaking spy. I don't even know why I'm here!! More or less where I came from!! Now what the hell is this place!''

Everyone was quiet for a second, they seemed surprised that I could talk.

''Well don't just stand there looking stupid. What the hell is this place?''

The Arby guy walked up to me and poked my forehead, pushing me backwards. ''Now listen here newbie. You don't just come bustin' in here, demandin' what this place is or calling us names. This is The Forest. But right here is the Glade.'' He said, a harsh tone in his voice. I scowled and tried to size him up, but my shortness could not compete with his tall size. He merely pushed me back and I fell over but got right back onto my feet. ''Why am I here?!''

He shot me a horrid glance, and walked off. I snorted and looked at everyone, they were all glaring at me like I was a killer or something. I felt uncomfortable once again. ''Tom!! Accompany the girl.'' He shouted over his shoulder. A boy with dark hair and inviting blue eyes walked up to me. Everyone else walked off, whispering. I bet it's about me. ''Hi, I'm Thomas, or Tom. I used to be the newbie here until you showed up.''

What's that supposed to mean, something bad? I thought to myself.

''Well hello Thomas. I'm Juni.''
