I was sitting on my bed with my back to my wall reading one of the newer books I had boughten. I had my headphones on and playing classical music. Listening to that while reading opens up my mind a bit more. Suddenly my phone went off and I look down at it and it was Sophie. She had texted me many times but I didn't seem to notice. I decided to call her back instead of texting because she will most likely answer the call than the text. It rang for a few seconds before she answered the phone.

"Hey. What's up?" She said and in the background you could hear a sink running.

"Nothing, just reading. What about you?" As I said this I pulled the headphones down so they would hang around my neck and set the book down besides me.

"I'm trying to wash the dog. She isn't having it though." There's a bark in the background and a splash. Suddenly you hear the phone drop and Sophie yelling in the background at the dog.

Sophie's dog is a tiny little Yorkie named Bea. Sophie has had Bea for about 6 years now and one thing to know about the dog is that she hates baths.

I wait there for a few minutes waiting for her to come back. Sitting there waiting, I hear her pick the phone up.

"Sorry. I dropped the phone and the soap when she jumped out. I had to chase her back down and put her back in the tub. I eventually gave up. I got part of her washed." She sighed.

"Why did you decide to call me in the middle of washing the dog?"

"Oh, I almost forgot. I was going to ask you if you'd want to hang out today. I'm free if you are."

"Oh sorry Soph, I have plans-"

She cut in before I could finish. "With Jake?"

I rolled my eyes even though she couldn't see, "No. Not with Jake. I am babysitting my nephews tonight." I paused for a minute then added, "I mean you could always join."

"No thanks. You know I don't really like kids."

I laughed because I already knew that would be her answer. "Alright, fine then. Maybe tomorrow. I'll be free."

"Alrighty then. Till tomorrow."

I nodded my head, "Till tomorrow." At that she hung up and I checked the time.

It was going on 12 and the boys will be dropped off around 1. I jump out of bed and walk into the living room where mom is standing in the kitchen.

"Hey hun, whatcha up to?"

As I entered the kitchen, "Nothing really. Just grabbing a drink and finishing homework before the boys come." I pause in front of the fridge after grabbing the drink and turn to mom and ask, "You're going to be working right?"

She set her mug down and looked at me, "Yeah. The General Store is having me work a bit more than normal. I'll be home around 9, maybe almost 10." She stopped and looked at the clock hanging on the wall. The time read 12:04. "I'd gotta get going soon. Do you know how late you'll be having the boys?"

"I am not sure. They will probably just end up spending the night because they end up crashing and not wanting to go home, like usual." As I was saying this she grabbed her purse and keys off of the wall.

She chuckled a bit and said, "I'll see you tonight. Love you." She was right in front of the door now.

"Love you too." And at that, she was out the door.

Shortly after that John was dropping the boys off. I was standing in the door frame watching them all unpile out of the car. When Jace and Daniel spotted me they came running up to hug me. I crouched down so I could hug them then they let go and ran into the house straight to my room. John had come walking up with their two little book bags. The book bags always had some coloring books in there and other little things to entertain them, but they usually don't use them here.
