How to Properly Place an IV:
Wash your hands and wipe down the area where you are going to make the incision.
WEAR STERILE GLOVES!!
Then, Tie a Tourniquet around the patient's arm.
Palpate (Feel) for a radial vein in the arm.
Use a 22 gauge (needle) and inject it.
Attach a Cath to the incision.
Remove the needle and tape the incision.
Hold it and hook it.
Flush it to confirm.
If the flush is incorrect, redo the needle placement and find a better radial vein.
Don't forget to Sterilize.
