Sunday, December 7, 1941 One day, two brothers from the army were at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. They were on the USS Arizona as they saw planes. At first, they thought they were American, but no. They were Japanese! They started bombing our naval support in an X-133. They also bombed a couple of our sailors. The brothers got in AA guns and tried to shoot them down but they were going so fast, it was really hard to even aim at them! They got out because it was no use. The brothers thought they could give them a taste of their own medicine. They hopped in a P-51 Mustang themselves and started shooting at them. One of the brothers, Richards, got his wing shot off and fortunately made a successful crash landing. He just had one bruise on his arm. Richards grabbed his 9mm Sap just in case. Daniels, the other brother, was still in the air. The Japanese were bombing everything in sight. Daniels landed safely and went to Richards. After the bombing was over, Richards went to the medic to get a bandage. Daniels followed Richards to the medic tent. Daniels had a headache from all of the shooting and bombing going on, so he took some medicine. Then something very bad happened. A Japanese bomber bombed the USS Arizona, and it exploded.
Chapter Two D-Day Operation Neptune
Tuesday, June 6, 1944 Richards and Daniels were in a fifty-foot mark III, ready to go to the Normandy Landings. When they were nearly there they were already being bombed by German planes. Unfortunately, a couple Americans were hit. When they arrived, the ramp slowly went down. A lot of Germans were already firing when the ramp went down, even though they were about a half mile away. Although the Germans were so far away, they killed a lot of Americans while they were coming off the boat. Richards and Daniels didn't even get shot and got to cover behind a blown up tank. They had to run up to the sea wall. While they were halfway to the seawall, they saw a downed man. They had to bring him to cover so he didn't die. While Daniels was carrying his legs and Richards was carrying his shoulders, a German almost shot Richards in the head but missed. We got him behind cover and screamed for a medic to come over. Once they got to the seawall, Daniels exploded the dirt wall with a banger. They had to capture Fort Able and Fort Baker by killing all of the Germans. Richards had an M1928 and Daniels had an M1 Garand. Richards climbed up the ladder to get to Fort Able while Daniels ran to the entrance to Fort Baker. There was a wall that Daniels had to blow up to get there, but Daniels didn't have any more bangers. Daniels wondered if his grenade would work so he tried it but it just blew up the bottom of the wall. Daniels had to crawl under the wall to run to the entrance, so he did. As Richards was climbing up the ladder, he threw a grenade in the Fort to get some Germans. Richards made it up the ladder and shot a German that made it through the grenade. Daniels was running up to the bunker to get the Germans. When Daniels got there, there was a German waiting for him at the entrance. The German shot and missed, but Daniels shot him. He threw another grenade in the bunker and got every single German and liberated the base. The next day, more boats came in with troops and tanks. There was a tank that Daniels and Richards had to drive with someone new to the army. His name was Phillips, a tank driver. As we were getting our orders that we were going to be on a Mk II tank, Phillips was being unloaded in his tank from the boat. Phillips drove over to us to pick us up for our next mission.
Chapter Three The Hostages Capturing Paris
As we had our orders, we were off in our tank to capture Paris with Phillips driving, Richards on the turret, and Daniels cannon shooter and reloader. They had to blow up three artillery turrets. On their way, there were a couple Germans that Richards shot down. They were almost there as a German climbed on the back of the tank while Richards didn't notice. The German first took Richards as a hostage, then we came along. He brought us to an underground bunker along with some other hostages we didn't know. They were talking in German saying, "Was sollen wir mit diesen Geiseln machen?" The strange hostages were shouting in what sounded like French. Then Daniels saw a symbol on their arms that said FFI. Daniels knew who they were! They were the French resistance. Luckily, Daniels, Richards, and Phillips had a trick up their sleeve. They pulled down the pocket knife in their sleeves and cut the rope off their hands. They got the Germans with their knife while they weren't paying attention. They took the Resistors with them and got back on the tank to bring them to the general.
