The remaining leg of the trip to school was less terrifying as the red car entered and scanned the almost full parking lot. They were too late for their class. Gray, still half fear-stricken, was silent throughout the trip.
"You sure you're ok?" Jesse asked, still concerned. "I mean I could ask our professors to excuse from our classes today. I bet they heard the news already. Many students must've been stranded or at least held up by that accident."
"You've been at it since we left that place. I said I'm fine, man, no worries." Gray replied nonchalantly, practically because he hated to be treated like he's weak.
"I thought you're going to faint or something. You're such a crybaby." Jesse teased.
Gray rolled his eyes and mocked Jesse's expression.
"Seriously, what's wrong with you hemaphobics? What is so scary about blood?"
"I don’t know. And don’t ask me." Gray said bitterly. "And for all I know, you'll scream your ass out if a snake comes by crawling in front of you."
"Well, that’s a different case." Jesse said defensively. "It's not like blood is going to bite you or something. And besides, snakes are all scaly and slimy and ugh… I'm getting goose bumps." he added, spiting every word in distaste.
"It's pretty much the same with blood, to me, I guess." Gray said looking more relaxed now.
Jesse settled their vehicle in the far corner of the parking lot. They went off and proceed to their room. Ms. Robinsons, the trigonometry professor is discussing about something when they arrived.
"Due to the accident earlier in the junction, most of the students were unable to attend their classes on time but in spite of it there will be no changes in the schedule, instead everyone will be excused from their first periods. But…"
"Good morning Ms. Rob," Jesse interrupted Ms. Robinsons.
"Sorry we're late." Gray apologized.
"Oh come in. I was just said that you guys were excused from your first class. Take your seats." she said.
Bettina Robinsons is average by height and tanned in complexion. Her curly hair is brownish to blackish in coloration and always pony-tailed. Her eyes is black, her nose too little too flat and her lips slightly thickset.
The two made their way to the vacant seats at the back, passing trough their seventeen silent classmates, searching for a particular someone among the crowd. So it seems that they're the only one's that were late.
As they approach, a boy sitting in the middle of the three vacant seats called up on Jesse.
"Jess," he said in almost a whisper, leaning sideways so that the teacher won't see their conversation.
Jesse turned toward him. As he did, the boy mouthed the words 'What happened?'.
"Long story." he replied and pokes his fist to the boy's already held out fist.
"Hey there Ron," Gray greeted the boy as he settled beside him.
Ronnel Westerly stands half an inch taller than Gray. His black, spiky hair covers his ears and the back of his neck. He wears a pair of spectacles covering his chinky brown eyes, rested on the bridge of his beautiful nose. His lips are thin and pinkish. He wears a yellow shirt covering his golden brown skin underneath.
"Are you alright? I heard somebody's you know. Did you unfortunately saw it?"
"I did. But I'm cool nonetheless." Gray answered him.
