In the beginning there was the univererse. It was a large and desolate space. Then, Fay [known as the Father, the First, or the Creator in the Karshman language], sprang into existence. He saw that the universe was new, and discovered that his powers limitless. He created the Sun and the Stars, and the great Moons. He created the Earth, and seeing it was barren, he decided to create life. He created the plants, and the animals [in the original text animal is replaced with a word that has long since lost it's original meaning], the mountains, the clouds, and, the beings.
These beings were thirteen in number, and Fay respected them more them all his other creations, for they had minds of their own, while others were ruled by instinct. He named them as such: Incend (the Fiery One, the Lord of Flames), Arcend (the Cold Archer, the Queen of the North), Brulga (the Baron of the Mountains, the Strong), Nratu (the Peaceful, the Protector of the Forest), Wesaze, (the Wise, the Sorceress, the Keeper of Knowledge), Bracth (the Barbarian of the South, the Wild, the Druid), Salm (the King of the Sky, the Powerful), Watuk (the Ruler of Water, the Master of the Sea), Heles (the Mistress of the Dead, the Necromancer), Rakre (the Swift, the Negotiator), Jarsar (the Tamer, the Ruthless, the Beast Huntress), Shamara (the Beautiful, the Fair, the Young), Xeron (the Unknown, the Hidden One, the Thirteenth).
Many years passed, and clashing opinions began to grow, on ways to treat animals, to the best one among them, and who was created first. This clash grew and grew until one they came upon an idea to resolve this disagreement. They went to Fay and said, "Father, you are the creator and master of all, and you have given us everything, however, we ask for one thing, and one thing only. We ask for more people, Creator, people who will follow us and we shall become leaders of our own tribe. For our opions are conflicted, and more people who are tailored individually for us would be much appreciated, for then we will not quarrel amongst ourselves as much."
Fay, troubled over this sudden request and fearing it would cause even more a rift between them all, asked, "Are you not content with all of which I have provide for you? Why would more people help when you are already beginning to disagree with each other?"
Wesaze quickly answered, "Father, would it be unwise to give it one try? If it proves unsuccessful, we shall go back the way we are now, just the thirteen of us."
Fay, still not sure, said, "Let us wait and see if you cannot resolve this conflict among yourselves, and in a decade, we shall talk again."
Years passed, and still their arguments grew...
