Summer Ever After //Luke Hemmings

Chapter Three

Darren had never been the jealous type, so it didn't surprise me that he was fine with my new friends. I still wondered though, what was Luke going to ask me? I couldn't help it, but during my entire dinner date with Darren, all I could think about was Luke.

"Raine, baby, you ok?" Darren asked putting his hand on mine, noticing I hadn't eaten any of my chicken fingers and fries, which were my absolute favorite.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I lied. Luke's face when I left......he looked almost.....depressed. All I wanted to do was comfort him.

"You haven't eaten your food," he says concerningly.

"My stomach hurts, Darren. I'm sorry," I pushed my food away.

"It's ok, babe," he leans over the table and kisses me. We start kissing, gently at first, and then a bit more intense, when I suddenly pull away.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Darren asked. I shook my head.

"I think I might be sick," I lied again. I didn't know what was wrong with me. Nothing felt right at all. "Can we go home?"

"Sure thing," Darren says, "I love you."

"I love you, too," I said. It wasn't a lie. I really did love Darren, a lot. I always had. Otherwise, I wouldn't be dating him, right?

We drive home in utter silence, which is abnormal for us. Most of the time, neither of us shut up the entire way home. We usually laugh and sing along to songs on the radio in the goofiest way possible. We usually at one point stop the car to make out and stay there for about half an hour.

When we arrive home, he leans me against the car door and kisses me passionately. This time, I stop resisting and fall into the kiss. Soon enough, it turns into a pretty heated make out session.

"Bye, gorgeous," he says before getting back in his car.

"Bye, handsome," I say and lean in to kiss him again.

I turn around and see Luke, staring at us. He shakes his head and walks inside.

Oh, crap. I forgot about him.

I'm sorry this chapter is so short. I promise the next one will be much longer, and will have tons of Luke and Raine in it!!! Not to mention the rest of the band plays a huge part in it as well..
