After about an hour of waiting for a response from Cody, I was starting to give up. I was starting to tell myself that he would never call, and that this whole thing was probably a mistake. Suddenly, my phone buzzed. I picked it up and saw my reply.
' hey. I am so sorry I didn't text back sooner. I had to clean up tables.'
I couldn't believe it. Cody texted me! I started to reply.
' That's alright I kinda figured you were busy.'
He replied, ' lol. So wyd?"
' Nm, just chillen in my room."
I mean it technically is my room.
' Oh that's cool. I just got home from work.'
' That's awesome.'
It took a few minuets for him to respond. I could see why when I got the next message.
' I know this is a little straight forward, but would you like to have dinner with me tomorrow night?'
I started freaking out and quickly typed my response.
' Sure. I'm available at 6. See you then'
'Ok see you then :)'
I was so excited. I started doing a happy dance. And according to nature, I haven't done a single happy dance since I got here. This is progress. I stopped dancing after I calmed down. Questions started forming in my head. What should I wear? Should I look presentable? Does he even like me like that?
" Of course he does Alaina. He wouldn't ask you out to dinner if he didn't." I told myself.
I crawled into bed thinking about Cody. Sadly, it was around 2 before I went to bed.
