Gavin-
On scene, in Finland, for the day to shoot for Mysteries of High School, Chels and I practice 24/7, that’s what it feels like it anyway. It’s only our first day filming here. We’re filming a walking scene in the park.
Savannah: “Jake” she asks.
Jake: “Yeah Savannah,” I answer.
Savannah: “Why me? Why did you pick me?” She asks her face is thoughtful and sincere.
Jake: “Basically, why did I pick the new girl? Am I right?” I ask her, she gives a shy nod, not looking me in the eye. I take both her hands in mine. She looks so timid and shy, nothing like the girl I know. “Being popular isn’t fun. Being with you, not having to be popular, being able to be who I am; that’s fun. Sure popularity has its perks, but you never know who your real friends are.”
Savannah: “So you find me in the main office on my first day and just happen to tell me that I was your partner for the junior class project?” she asks, “The one that you had made up.” She pauses, “Jake, it doesn’t add up.” she releases one of my hands and continues the walk we had started.
Jake: “Are you saying I made a bad decision telling you about it.” I match her pace
Savannah: “Other than the fact you started our relationship with a lie” she jokes with a smile, before she returns to her serious demeanor “At the time, I would’ve said yes in a heartbeat, but now,” she pauses, and looks over to me, “I’m glad you persisted.”
Jake: “I’m glad you finally stopped running” I admit, “You’re one special girl." I pause and look at the watch adorning my wrist, "Come on, your parents are waiting.” We walk toward the busy street.
“Cut!” The director says, “You’re all done for the day. Go and enjoy the sights, for real.”
“Gavin you were great!” Chelsea praises taking out her hairpins, her hair falling back around her face.
“It takes a good partner to make it work,” I answer she blushes and she gives me a shy smile.
“Chels, why don’t we go see if we can find Sarah?” Zach says walking up to Chelsea and me. Austin keeping pace with him.
“Just let me change out of costume.” Chelsea says, “It’s fall around here, and I’m freezing. I’m going to get into something warmer. A summer day dress isn’t going to cut it.” She heads to the costume trailer and reappears moments later in a pair of dark denim jeans, a long sleeved blue t-shirt, and dark denim jacket hanging over her right shoulder by her fingers.
“Ready?” Zach asks in amusement. She gives him a glare but ends up smiling at him.
“Of course.” She answers, “Come on, let’s go.”
“Studio seven is a walk down the block. Just down town, let’s walk.” Zach says. He heads toward the downtown area. Chelsea quickly follows leaving Austin and me to catch up to them.
“Name please,” the security officer, says pulling out his clipboard.
“Zach Cameron, Chelsea Stonefield, Gavin Blackwell, and Austin Britt.” Zach says, the officer scans the list and opens the door.
“Studio seven is all the way at the back and to the left.”
Zach and Chelsea take off at a sprint, Austin lets out a sigh and the two of us take off after them.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Cameron.” A tall man in a business suit says as Austin and I finally catch up. “And you must be Miss Stonefield.”
“Yes sir,” Chelsea says shaking his extended hand.
“Well, Serina is in her trailer.” He points to a trailer with a star on the door. Chelsea thanks him and the man walks away.
“Chels,” I start as Austin and I walk up to her, “Are you okay?”
“I don’t think I can do this. I know we moved locations to be right here last minute,” She starts her eyes filled with a fear and anxiety, none of us could take away, “But what if it was wrong?”
“Chels,” Zach starts, “You’re not doing this alone. We’re all going to be here for you.” He tells her, "I'm going to be with you too."
“You can do this Chels,” Austin assures her, his hand resting on her shoulder; he pulls her into a hug, “I know you can do this.”
“We’ll all be right here for you.” I tell her
“Come on Chels, they’ve got a scene to shoot in five.” Zach says holding out his hand for her, she slowly accepts it and lets him take her to the trailer.
