This week will be the best so far. We get to skip a day of school to go to an aquarium for marine and I couldn't be more excited
"Pollito, time to go to bed." My mom said walking over to my bed.
"Okay mami, goodnight te amo." I say, yawning. Why am I always so tired?
"Okay love goodnight." My mom says kissing my forehead and then leaving my room. The 24/7 tiredness that I have become accustomed to overtakes me and my mind drifts off.

"Kat, wake up, go eat breakfast." My mom said.
"What is the break of the fast?"
"Waffles." My mom said knowing that, that is the only thing that would get me up from bed.
"Okayyyyyyyy sureeeeeee but I need coffeeeee." I say knowing that I can't just stay home because make up work is brutal. Before I eat breakfast I get dress.
I wear the same kind of style everyday. Jade says it is edgy but stylish. But I can't understand how skinny jeans with plain shirts or button down shirts are edgy, maybe the shoes but even then Doc Martens are just cute and comfy.
"Honey, how is Derek doing?" My mom asked. I am pretty sure she is referring to how much time Derek has spent at our house more than at his lately.
"He is okay. I mean he doesn't really like talking about it." I say tried to end the conversation with that.
"You should hurry up the bus is coming soon." My mom says handing me my lunch.
"Okay bye mom"
"Yea don't worry about it and remember that the kids are back later today?" My mom asked since I haven't ever been to my dad's house voluntarily. Hell, the only time I went was because I needed to keep an eye on him. The good thing is that he only gets them every other weekend.
"I am sure, plus I like being with you much better." I say while walking out of the house.

"Katalyna, what's up?" Derek said, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing much, you?"
"Nothing much either it's too early for me to be doing much." He says receiving a chuckle from my shared feeling.
"So are you ready for tomorrow? Maybe we could call it a date, huh?" Derek said raising his eyebrows.
"Hey buddy I thought we talked about this. No flirting in front of people." I say teasing him.
"Sorry Kat, how about I go over your house today and stay the night so we can flirt as much as we want?" He said but seriousness was tied to the beginning of his sentence.
"You stayed over one night at that was because it was like 1 am; my mom didn't want you to wake up your parents so you could get home. One time." I say rolling my eyes and holding up one finger.
"Katty I am aware we are both hormonal 16 year olds but I seriously don't want to go home. Plus be environmentally friendly." Derek said trying to move away from why he wanted to stay over.
"DJ, we ride the bus to go home with about 50 other kids. We are environmentally friendly! However you might be in luck. My mom is open now, she understands that I happen to have more guy friends. She sat me down and had the sex talk and I couldn't stop laughing. But she said and I quote 'I trust you enough to know when and with who you have sex. So I will allow you to hang out with guys alone." I stopped when I saw Dereks eye popping out.
"To summarize since you look like you are about to die. I believe sleepovers are okay but that does not mean I am letting you stay the night."
"Looks like your mom is doing the whole divorce chill mom."
