Earth can be a beautiful place pt.1

"What did it look like again? Where you came from I mean.." You turned to the man standing next to you. He was staring out the huge window before him. He's face was twisted into one of confusion and pain, a face he normally makes when he wakes up from a nightmare. His hair was uncombed and covered parts of his face. His scar seemed to be more pigmented due to the lighting of the stars.  He would always ask you to describe your home planet to him when he was like this.

After a long pause you spoke,

"Well, where I'm from water dominates the planet. There's patches of land where the climate and scenery are different. Humans roam the planet, some are selfish while others are selfless. These humans haven't the technology to leave their solar system. They fight and bicker with each other. And although the people in high power are corrupted and people who have none are starving, there is beauty found. There is beauty found on this planet. There are plants in which you've never seen, animals you couldn't comprehend. These animals that are so simple to me, yet unknown to you. This planet that hold both humans and animals, plants and water, life and death. This planet that seems to get pushed aside by most in the universe. This planet where I was born. The planet earth."

You finished your mini monologue, your gaze was now out of the window. Part of you hoped, dreamed, that you would be able to visit that planet again.

The man turned to you, having read your thoughts he couldn't help but feel bad. He knew every time the ship passed by a planet you would be the only person by a window. You'd be desperately trying to see if the planet was familiar. Trying to see if you were even near your solar system.

He decided right then at that moment that he would do everything in his power to look for the planet Earth.

"It sounds like a wonderful planet." He said, after he spoke more silence filled the space between you. It was a gentle silence, one you crave after speaking for so long.

"It is." You turned to the man, a small smile on your face. He's gaze never left your figure, and only then did he realize how beautiful you were. How optimistic you were, even when times were tough, you were so joyful and soft.

He had to look away. You were too bright to look at. Your eyes shined with happiness, even if your smile was soft. There was passionate in your voice whenever you spoke about Earth. Kylo was in awe, his whole life had been one walking nightmare, and yet you were always there. He never spoke to you outside of the night hours. He didn't even know your name. All he knew was that whenever he would awake, distressed, he would wander towards the window were you would be most nights. He doesn't exactly remember his first encounter with you, just the feeling of being relived and refreshed.

Caught in his own thought, Kylo missed you leaving. You had walked back to your room. You thought there was no need to stay any longer.

"Mis (L/n), you are being requested by General Hux." You looked up from what you were working on to see a storm trooper. You nodded your head at them and got up. You followed the storm trooper down the hall ways till you reached Hux's room.

You gently knocked, and you heard General Hux say, "Come in."

You walked in, closed the door and stood in the middle of the room.

"Have I done something wrong, sir?" You spoke clearly, trying to appear clam. Hux was sitting at his desk, doing paper work most likely. He didn't look up to meet your eyes.

"No no, I just had to help this idiot find you." Confused, you look in the direction Hux was pointing in.

Kylo Ren was awkwardly standing in the corner, his mask on. You were even more confused now.

"I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand..." You said as you looked from Kylo to Hux.

Your mind was fuzzy as you tried to understand why Kylo would be looking for you. Hux said nothing, so you directed your attention to Kylo. He walked closer to you, he paused when he was a few feet from you. You tilted your head to look up at him.

His hands went to the back of his helmet, a hissing noise was heard and his helmet was off. Your expression went from confused to shocked.

You gasped slightly.

"You...." You turned from Kylo and looked over to Hux, who was watching with amusement.

"Is this some kind of joke?" You asked softly, your eyes casted down.

"No, it's not, I just... I had to see you, I uh, never asked what your name was.." You looked up to meet the eyes of the man who you grew accustomed to. His eyes seemed to be a softer brown in the harsh lighting of the room.

"Oh, um it's (Y/n)...(Y/n) (L/n)..." You were lost in his eyes, his hair was actually combed for once, his face wasn't twisted with pain. He looked more awake, more aware of his surroundings.

Kylo grew nervous under your gaze. His stomach twisted and dropped, he didn't like this feeling, but he didn't know what to do. He broke eye contact with you and looked away, his face heating up.

"Why don't you tell her what you found Kylo?" Hux spoke in a teasing manner, a smirk on his features.

"U-uh right! So you know how you're always talking about your home planet?" You nodded as Kylo continued, "Well, we found it. And Snoke is requesting that two people go and check it out. And since you were born there, I thought it would be perfect if you and I go...." Kylo's face was dark red, while you couldn't be happier. You were smiling like crazy.

"When do we depart???" It took everything in you to not jump up and down in that moment.

"As soon as possible."
