I woke up that morning same as always I went into the bathroom got in the shower and brushed my teeth I threw on a pair of my loose jeans and a white shirt that had some black print on it I threw on my red retro jacket and my red converse.

I pulled my hair up in a high ponytail and put in my contacts I ran downstairs my dad glanced at his watch than me " where's your glasses we don't have time for this"

"I want to wear contacts today"

"Fine we need to leave now"

"I want to drive my truck"

"No now come on....the time"

"I want to drive my truck dad"

"Come on"

"Nope I'm driving my truck"

I crossed my arms

He narrowed his eyes at me " you're grounded so no"

"Oh and I want my phone back"

"What do think this is a democracy, get in my car"

I grabbed my keys and snatched my phone out of his hands "dad I'm 18 not a little kid anymore, mom was right you can't control me forever I'm growing up"

I ran outside and got in my truck...I was going to pay for that later. I cranked up and drove to school my stomach started to growl, I hadn't eaten breakfast that morning there was a knock at my window it was Courtney.

I got out "well somebody is earlier"

"Oh yeah, I figured why not I bought a biscuit from Hardee's you want"

I snatched it out of her hand and we walked inside the library

"So where's your dad"

"He's here we got in a fight this morning and I kind of maybe took my phone and drove myself to school"

"Oh you'll get over it"

"I don't know I'm tired of living my life by a clock and his rules I want to be free"

"Well having real friends might do that to you"

"Yeah well I like it, he literally controls every aspect of my life, I kind of want to move in with my mom"

I sat inside my first class and Daniel walked in he looked at me and slid into the seat next to me

"Hey princess, look I'm sorry about the party I was drunk and upset"

"It's okay, I guess"

"Well good I thought you were going to make it into a big deal"

I rolled my eyes he sighed "so why were you crying though are you okay"

He looked at me like he genuinely cared but I know it was all a facade, "Yep I'm fine I called Courtney and she drove me home"

"Courtney, as in The hot librarian Courtney"

"That would be the one"

"Think you could put in a good word for me with her"

I laughed "no do it yourself she won't like you though"

He placed his hand over his chest "ouch, that actually hurt princess"

I scoffed "I'm sure it did, Dani boy"

He smirked and stared at me intently why the heck was he staring like that? Just then the teacher walked in and began her lesson making everyone else go quiet.

I walked into the library for lunch when I saw Andrew talking to Courtney they were laughing, when Courtney noticed me she smiled "Oh Harper your here"

I smiled Andrew turned and I noticed he had 3 different roses in his hand he smiled and handed me them there was a red one, a pink one, and a white one he smiled "this is apart of my apology for that night at the party"

"Andrew you really didn't have to"

He smiled "I did I felt so awful, anyways I called Courtney and asked if she could maybe pick up a few things for me which she did, so here you go"

He handed me a gift bag I opened it to see a small box I took it out and inside was a ring pop I laughed "I don't understand"

"Well, I remember when we were walking on the beach you told me that you loved ring pops so much you wanted someone to propose to you with one, so...."

He got down on one knee and smiled, "here I am proposing a friendship to you, do you accept"

I put my finger on chin like I was thinking then I nodded he got up and hugged me he smiled, "great oh and there's more in there"

I opened up the bag and pulled out a tiny stuffed bear awwww he smiled, "keep looking"

I opened up the bag again and pulled out a card I opened it and read out loud

Heyo Harper, I think your really sweet and pretty I'm sorry for what I did at the party I was drunk and it was stupid, I hope you can forgive me and I hope we can move past this and be friends because I really like you...and your love for ring pops ;)

I smiled, "you really didn't have to do all this I barely even know you"

"I know but I wanted to, your....special Harper very special"

He hugged my side then I turned to look at Courtney she smiled, "don't look at me it was all him I just bought the stuff with his card"

He smiled down at the ground

"Well it's all very sweet thank you"

"It's the least I could do...so Harper are you doing anything after school today"

"No why"

"Well, I wanted to go watch a movie with you, hang out I mean now that we're friends were supposed to do that stuff right?"

"Yeah sure, I'd like that Andrew"

He smiled, "thanks see ya later Harper"

He winked and walked out Courtney turned to me, "that was adorable"

"He's something else"

"You better snatch him up before someone else does"

I laughed "Were friends that's all Courtney"

"Friends don't propose with ring pops and write cute little cards"

"Well I'd argue but the only one I've ever really had was you and you don't do that"

"Hey I can do nice things when I want to, I buy you food all the time"

"Yeah with my dad's money"

"But I use my gas to get it"

"So...dodododon't look now but Daniel has been eyeing you this whole time and he's kinda sort of doing it right now...don't look back just"

I turned around to see Daniel staring he smirked and waved I waved back then turned to Courtney "he's probably staring at you Court's he thinks your hot"

She rolled her eyes "no my dear he was staring at you"

"He asked me to put in a good word for him with you"

"Trust me he was staring at youu"
