Meeting the Team

I'm not gonna lie, after all my parents inventions, I was honestly surprised at this. Nothing in my life was ever going to prepare me for this. Or is it afterlife? I don't know at the moment. Batman let me soak everything in before clearing his throat. I turned to look at him, my face in a wide grin. 

"Dude, that has got to be the coolest thing I have ever seen!" I beamed. 

"Come on, you'll want to meet the team." He gestured. We walked down a hallway and into a room that had a gray floor of some sort. Six teens, all dressed in uniforms, except for one boy in a Superman t-shirt and jeans, stood in a line. I recognized one of them as the boy I'd seen when I'd first woken up, and compared to everyone else there, he was relatively short. I then realized that compared to the same people, I was also relatively short. 

"Team, I'd like you to meet Danny Phantom." He introduced. 

"Hi..." I suddenly felt very self-conscious. These people had been trained by professionals, they'd worked hard just to be able to go out into the field. What did I do? I tripped inside of a portal and accidentally electrocuted myself half to death, then decided that I was gonna become a hero. 

"I'm Kid Flash," A boy in a yellow suit with fiery red hair waved enthusiastically.  

"I am Aqualad, and it is a pleasure to meet you." A boy with dark skin and blond hair smiled slightly. 

"Pleasure to meet you too, I guess." I shrugged. 

"Hello! I'm Miss Martian!" A girl with literal green skin flew over to me. I suddenly realized I wasn't actually in my suit, and I was in the t-shirt. I immediately switched over to it. She gasped in both surprise and excitement. "You can shapeshift too?" 

"Not exactly, I think I can just shift clothes as far as I know." I blushed slightly, which came out green. 

"Strange..." The boy I'd seen when I first woke up muttered, noticing the green blush. "Oh, I'm Robin by the way, we didn't have a proper introduction." 

"I'm Artemis." The other girl wearing the green outfit sighed. She had a blonde ponytail, and a bow and arrow strung across her back. 

"Superboy." The last one grumbled.

"Well, like Batman said, I'm Danny Phantom. Or Danny. Or Phantom. Or Ghost boy. Pretty much anything but invisobill or Dan to be honest. Don't call me Dan under any circumstances." I made that last part very clear. I wasn't going to become him, no matter what it took. 

"Phantom, can I speak to you for a minute?" Batman asked. I nodded, following him to another room. "I want you to join the team." 

"Wait, what?" I blinked, looking back at him. "Are you serious?" 

"I never joke." Batman said flatly. 

"Wow, um...sure, I guess..." I looked down. 

"You'll have to stay here until I can get a zeta beam set up in Amity Park. It shouldn't take more than two weeks." Batman added. 

"What about school?" I asked. 

"You're a ghost." Batman raised an eyebrow. 

"Right. Right. But I uh, I have ghost school." I smiled slightly. 

"You're a terrible liar." Batman frowned. 

"Okay, fine, but you can't tell anyone. I mean anyone, not even Robin. I already have enough people who know." I sighed. 

"I can keep a secret." Batman nodded. I took a deep breath as I let the white rings envelop me. 

"My real name is Danny Fenton, and I guess I didn't technically die. I tripped in a portal and got ectoplasm infused into my DNA, making me half ghost." I explained. "Also, my parents have absolutely no idea, and they aren't ever going to." I went back to my ghost half. 

"I won't tell them, but I would advise you to. Keeping these types of secrets from your family isn't healthy." Batman kept a mostly emotionless face. I shook my head. 

"I can't." Was all I said. "I can't tell them. Besides, it's bad enough that Jazz knows." I smirked. 

"I won't force you to." Was the last thing Batman said before we entered the room with all the others once again. "Welcome to the team, Phantom."

I figured that since I put the A/N thing up I owed it to you guys to write another chapter because I got everybody all excited for nothing but an announcement, so here you go. Yes, it's really late. Yes, I should probably be in bed. Feel privileged that I felt bad about putting the A/N in without a chapter. Now, I'm going to go to sleep now. Goodnight, and goodbye.
